Raptors Trade NBA Draft Pick for Jermaine O'Neal

With the 2008 NBA draft upon us teams are already making moves to improve their team.

The Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers have made the biggest move so far. The Raptors have sent point guard T.J. Ford and the 17th pick in the draft for former All-Star Jermaine O'Neal.

The Pacers, with only Jamaal Tinsley playing point on the roster, are desperate for a point guard. While the Raptors need another 4 or 5 that can play alongside power forward Chris Bosh.

ESPN reports Ford's contract makes him a "base-year compensation" player, meaning the trade cannot be completed until July 9.
