And so ends the season for Baltimore QB Kyle Boller.

Boller, the six-year veteran out of Cal, appeared to be the frontrunner for the Ravens' starting QB job when training camp began this summer. But an injured shoulder has forced the team to put him on injured reserve, essentially ending his season – and quite possibly his career in Baltimore.

He is in the final year of his contract, and it is uncertain if the Ravens will want to bring him back. Although Boller has started 42 games, his inconsistent play thrust him into a competition this summer with Troy Smith and rookie Joe Flacco to determine the starting quarterback.
