In what promises to be a battle of stellar pitching, the Boston Red Sox hope to ride post-season hero Josh Beckett to a Game 2 victory over the Tamp Bay Rays in the American League Championship Series.
His opponent? Tampa Bay's Scott Kazmir. Just 24 hours after watching Boston's Daisuke Matsuzaka dismantle the Rays offense, manager Terry Francona hopes Beckett can follow suit.
Beckett, 12-10 on the regular season, will look to bounce back from a less-than-spectacular 2008 playoff debut after a dominant 2007 second season that saw him and the Red Sox win their second title in four years.
Lefty Kazmir enters the game 12-8 on the regular season with one post-season win already under his belt this year.
