After missing out on Brian Giles last week, the Boston Red Sox knew they needed to pull the trigger on a deal soon.

They did that today, dealing for 37-year-old righty Paul Byrd of the Cleveland Indians. Byrd is just 7-10 this year with a 4.53 ERA, but he has won all four of his starts since the All-Star break. That includes a nine-inning, two-run complete game against Toronto this past weekend. Since the All-Star break, Byrd has allowed only four earned runs total.

Boston currently leads the AL Wild Card race - will this move keep them in atop the playoff chase? If you think you know, check out the Bodog Sportsbook today for all the latest in MLB baseball betting!
