SI.com's Jack McCallum is reporting that Phoenix Suns coach Mike D'Antoni will not be returning as head coach.

The Suns had another disappointing finish to their season last night with a 92-87 loss and 4-1 series loss to the San Antonio Spurs. D'Antoni has been blamed for the Suns' post-season struggles and lack of defensive intensity.

"I'm just really proud of my guys," D'Antoni said after the the Spurs ended the Suns' season for the third time in four years.

Although D'Antoni should be credited for the Suns' resurgence, his European style never translated well in the defensive-minded NBA playoffs.

D'Antoni leaves his tenure as coach with a 232-96 record and two appearances in the conference finals.
