Chicago Cubs fans are getting ready to watch their latest addition make his debut this afternoon against the San Francisco Giants.

Ryan Harden was acquired from the Oakland Athletics along with Chad Gaudin for a host of A's prospects and brings with him an impressive yet injury-riddle resume.

Expect the Cubs to pull out all the stops in ensuring Harden's wealth while looking to hold onto their lead in the National League central.

The media dubbed "Arms Race" that has taken place recently began when the Milwaukee Brewers pried C.C. Sabathia away from the Cleveland Indians.

Sabathia, last year's American League Cy Young award winner, remains just 7-8 in the win column but fresh off a 19-7 season last season may help the Brewers climb in the standings.

Harden on the other hand has five wins and just one loss in 13 appearances so far this season. If the British Columbia native can stay healthy expect the acquisition to pay off as the Cubs chase that oh so elusive pennant.
