A boxing match between Roy Jones Jr. and reigning UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva is slowly becoming a reality.
The idea started when Silva expressed interest in boxing Jones during an interview with MMAweekly.com.
Contacted by Silva's manager Ed Soares, Jones' management said that the former boxing champion was "flattered and excited" to hear about the octagon champ's interest in fighting him.
Now, odds for the fight are online in the Bodog Sportsbook.
Once considered the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Jones is the -2800 favorite to win. Silva is a +1400 underdog.
No date or venue has been announced for the match, which still has one foot in the world of "maybe". For now, the ball is in the court of the UFC, who must decide whether to allow Silva to fight Jones under boxing rules.
