San Diego Upsets UConn with OT Win

We have the first major upset of the NCAA tournament. No. 13 San Diego over No. 4 UConn 70-69.
The game had enough drama to make the writers of Lost proud. The Toreros had a solid lead at halftime, only to see the Huskies storm back and force overtime. It looked like UConn was going to pull off the comeback with leading San Diego scorers Gyno Pomare and Brandon Johnson fouled out. But De'Jon Jackson, who had been an abysmal 2-11 from the field, hit a jumper with 1.9 second remaining to seal the win.
It was an especially gutsy performance from Johnson, he had 18 points and seemed to be fighting through a groin injury in the final minutes of regulation.
With the upset over UConn, No. 13 San Diego moves to the second round to face No. 12 Western Kentucky. Yeah… we officially have some madness in March.
Stay tuned for all your March Madness first round results and recaps!
