Golf is a very popular sport in North America and Europe but is it a true global game? There are a handful of golfers from many other countries but maybe not to the point of making it an international event at the Olympics.

On the other hand, it would be a really exciting event to watch and it would give young players a chance to make a name for themselves.

If tennis is in the Olympics, golf really should be as well.

The real important question is, would PGA or LPGA stars take a few weeks off from the tour, where they earn their living, to go after a medal?

Get Tiger Woods and a few other big names on board and there might be a case to be made.

Until then it would seem to be in professional golf's best interest to stick to the Ryder Cup every few years and not go into the Olympics.
