Every year it's seems like the San Diego Chargers have one sore loser who can't keep his mouth shut when the game is over, and center Nick Hardwick seems to be the one for the 2007-08 season.
He called defensive end Richard Seymour everything short of a bitch in his post AFC Championship Game tirade.
"There are 10 [expletive] good players on that team, but Richard Seymour is a dirty, cheap, little pompous [expletive]," Hardwick told reporters after the game. "They've got 10 great players on that team and when Jarvis Green comes on the field, they've got 11 great players who compete how you're supposed to play. "But Richard Seymour is the biggest [expletive] I've ever played."
Oh wait, after reading between the "expletives" it looks like he might've called him a bitch too.
Needless to say Seymour wasn't going to bend over and take it like a [expletive], he defended himself on Wednesday.
"I thought it was classless, but I also understand he was hurt and frustrated," Seymour said of Hardwick's comments, according to The Boston Globe. "He's a grown man, and grown men usually try to own up to what happened and not rub it in, taking a loss like a man."
"There's no battle of words, but you can't attack my character."
The Chargers and Patriots have been fairly heated rivals ever since San Diego running back LaDainian Tomlinson called them classless for imitating Shawne Merriman's "Lights Out" dance on the Chargers' logo.
