We guess that got the point across.
Upset with a judging decision that cost him a shot at the gold medal final, Swedish wrestler Ara Abrahamian chucked his bronze medal in the 84 kg class. Abrahamian was beaten by eventual gold medal winner Andrea Minguzzi of Italy in the semifinal but was furious with the verdict, shouting at the referee before confronting the judges.
While Abrahamian went on to win the bronze, he still was visibly upset with the earlier match. He grudgingly mounted the podium before taking off his medal and leaving it in the center of the competition mat.
This dramatic display was the first of its kind at the Beijing Olympics. We didn't see it coming. If we did, however, we would've thrown down on the 2008 Summer Olympic Games Betting available in the Bodog Sportsbook! Check 'em all out today!
