Brett Favre made his debut for the Minnesota Vikings in a preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, going 1-for-4 for 4 yards in a 17-13 victory on Friday night.

Nothing much to get excited about, but it was his first action of the preseason.

Tarvaris Jackson has probably had to make the biggest adjustment since Favre signed. Just over a week ago, he was competing with Sage Rosenfels for the starting job. Now he’s trying to earn a spot as Favre’s backup.

He responded in impressive fashion, completing 12 of 15 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, including a 64-yarder to Darius Reynaud.

Rosenfels appears to be the odd man out for now. He did not play against Kansas City because of an injured right ankle.

At this point we all know who will be starting in Week 1 for the Vikings, regardless of how well Jackson is playing. Favre is listed at +2500 to win league MVP.
