It didn't take Tiger Woods too long to get back in the swing of the PGA Tour. The world's number one racked up six birdies with just one bogey in the opening round of the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines, just outside of San Diego.

Bet on the PGA!

Some players are still finishing up their rounds but, today at least, it doesn't look like anyone will catch American Troy Matteson, who shot 65 and sits alone atop the leaderboard. Brad Adamonis fired a 66 and is alone in second while a group is tied for third at five-under, including Woods, Rory Sabbatini and Stuart Appleby.

Other notables include Charles Howell III (-4), Phil Mickelson (-2), Stephen Ames (-2), K.J. Choi (E), Vijay Singh (+1) and Jim Furyk (+1).

Canadian Mike Weir was forced to withdraw after nine holes due to illness.
