After falling in a qualifying heat yesterday fans of the US Olympic team may have cause for concern.

Tyson Gay, widely regarded as the elite sprinter on the American team, wiped out on the first corner in his bid for a berth in the 200 m race.

The top three finishers in each of the final races at the Olympic Track and Field Trials qualify for the upcoming Beijing Games.

Though Gay had to be carted off the track, it appears as though he will still be able to run in Beijing in the 100 m race.
