No. 12 Western Kentucky made a valiant second-half push, but it wasn't enough to beat No. 1 UCLA.
UCLA's inside game overpowered the Hilltoppers, center Kevin Love scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and forward James Keefe scored 18 and grabbed 12 to help the Bruins beat the Hilltoppers 88-78.
Western Kentucky trailed by as many as 18 points, but turned on their full-court press and got themselves back within four. However, their hot shooting from 3 ran dry and the Bruins were able to pull away.
Western Kentucky's Tyrone Brazelton made himself look good for NBA scouts, he had a game-high 31 points off 10-of-21 shooting, including six from 3-point range while Courtney Lee added 18.
The Hilltoppers go home after a great tournament, however, they were still able to cover as 12.5-point underdogs.
