The UEFA Champions League matches on the docket for Tuesday and Wednesday (all 2:45 p.m. Eastern start times) will determine who goes on to the first knockout round of 16 in February.

Some of these matches are closer than they appear. Chelsea, currently one point behind Liverpool for first place in the English Premier League, are –1000 favorites against CFR 1907 Cluj-Napoca, the champions of Romania’s Liga I. CFR Cluj is a decided +1600 underdog with a draw priced at +700. However, a scoreless draw is exactly what happened when these two sides met on October 1.

Then you have toss-ups like Liverpool vs. PSV Eindhoven, the Eredivisie champions from the Netherlands. Remove the draw outcome, and this is a pick ‘em with either side at –120, even though the Reds cruised to a 3-1 victory in October.
