The latest disappointment: Saturday’s UFC 90 card at the former Rosemont Horizon near Chicago. Anderson Silva retained his middleweight championship when Patrick Cote’s right knee gave out from under him as he prepared to engage Silva early in the third round. It was a lackluster event up to that point, as both fighters were focused primarily on the counter-attack.
Here are the results for the main card from UFC 90:
- Lightweight: Sean Sherk beat Tyson Griffin by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) in the Fight of the Night.
- Heavyweight: Junior dos Santos beat Fabricio Werdum by KO (strikes) at 1:20 of Round 1.
- Lightweight: Gray Maynard beat Rich Clementi by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).
- Welterweight: Thiago Alves beat Josh Koscheck by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27).
- Middleweight: Anderson Silva beat Patrick Cote by TKO (injury) at 0:39 of Round 3.
