Lyoto Machida cannot be called dull any longer by fans and media. “The Dragon”, as he is known, won the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s light heavyweight title with an electrifying flurry that knocked out Rashad Evans on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at 3:57 of the second round. Referee Mario Yamasaki had no choice but to stop it.

Evans came in as a +170 underdog while the challenger Machida was the favorite at -210.

Evans proved with his one-punch knockout of Chuck Liddell in September and his TKO of Forrest Griffin in December that he’s powerful enough to win any fight with a single shot.

Machida, though, went for the kill as soon as the first opportunity presented itself.

He is now the new UFC light heavyweight champ and remains unbeaten at 15-0. It was Evans’ first loss in 15 fights. Bodog has all you MMA odds.
