US Open Serena Williams Foot Fault Outburst
| Serena Williams got upset. (YouTube Video) |
Serena Williams had a bit of a meltdown at the 2009 US Open in her match against Kim Clijsters when a lineswoman made a foot fault call. Because Williams had received an earlier warning for smashing a racket, she was handed an automatic point penalty for a second violation, giving Clijsters the match 6-4, 7-5.
Apparently, Serena said to the lineswoman, "I swear to God, I'll fucking take this ball and shove it down your fucking throat."
After officials discussed with an irate Serena about what went down, Serena audibly yelled, "I didn't say I would kill you are you serious?"
Then, a teary-eyed Williams threw her racket down, shook hands with Clijsters and stormed off the court to a chorus of boos.
During a press conference about the incident, when asked about what she'd actually said to the lineswoman, Serena said that she "didn’t remember anymore" and that what happened was "in the moment."
Serena refused to make a statement on the exact conversation between her and the officials.

As a linesperson, you cannot keep calling foot fault unnecessarily at that point of the match. Because then, you will be fueling foolish problems on the court. Hope Serena puts it behind and move on. I also wanna to congratulate kim.
The officals at the us open just showed there true color, the us bias for some players vs others. It's ok for the women russia0n players to throw and beat rackets on the court or curse officals(judges) and its ok. The williams sisters have only displayed great sportsmanship since the day they stepped on the court. And the sports announcers need to give them a breaK, Serena has nothing to apolize for, white people are always expecting a african american to apolize. They feel the need to make a mockery of the insident!
if the lineswoman is wrong or not, what she said is totally wrong,if i where the official i would ban her for being an asshole, and a sore losser
