With a walk off homerun in the bottom of the ninth, the Philadelphia Phillies took a 5-4 game and  2-1 lead in the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Catcher Carlos Ruiz won the game for the Phillies with an RBI single in the ninth, bringing an end to a long evening delayed due to increment weather in Philadelphia.

Earlier in the game, Ruiz joined Chase Utley and Ryan Howard as one of three Phillies to connect on solo home runs early.

Though Jamie Moyer started the game on the mound for Philadelphia, and Matt Garza for Tampa Bay, neither pitcher was included in the final decision.

After a Ryan Madson blown save, J.C. Romero pitched the end of the eighth and the ninth inning, registering the victory.
