In comes Michael Turner to Atlanta, out goes Warrick Dunn to…where? The latest from The Dallas Morning News has the former Falcons running back reaching out to the Dallas Cowboys through his agent, Jim Steiner. But don't expect anything to happen soon. The Cowboys are uncertain what they'll do at the position as Marion Barber is a restricted free agent and Julius Jones is an unrestricted free agent.
The 33-year-old Dunn ran for a career-high 1,416 yards in 2005, earning his third Pro Bowl appearance. Last year, he went for just 720 yards.
"The legacy he leaves in Atlanta will be long-remembered and appreciated by his fellow players, fans and the community," Atlanta owner Arthur Blank said. "In my mind, Warrick will always be part of the Falcons family."
As for Dunn, he still believes he can be a force in the NFL.
"I can still play this game," he said. "This is tough. I'm not going to lie. I have a very strong base in Atlanta, a strong following, a lot of friends that I built over six years. There are a lot of people in the organization that I'm close to. They're family to me and it's hard to leave family."
