The combination of soft coverage and a feeble pass rush has dropped the Bears’ defense to 17th in total yards allowed per game and tied for 15th in points allowed, even though they’re No. 4 in run defense, allowing just 74.9 yards per game. The Bears remained near the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed after getting picked apart by the Titans’ Kerry Collins on Sunday.
Fortunately for the Bears, Green Bay has not been firing on all cylinders on offense lately. Horrid pass protection aided to Aaron Rodgers getting knocked to the turf at least a dozen times, including four sacks, and he didn’t have a touchdown pass for only the second time this season in a 28-27 loss to the Vikings.
