The defending-champion Detroit Shock and Los Angeles Sparks start things off on Saturday afternoon on ABC.

For a typical champion hunger might be an issue a year after winning a title, especially when you factor in that the Shock may feature a slew of players that have achieved personal and team success at many levels.
WNBA general managers predicted on Wednesday that the Los Angeles Sparks will win their third WNBA title, and that center Lisa Leslie will win a league-record fourth MVP.
