Strange happenings occurred in Greensboro, NC on Saturday. Britney Spears put this thing to her lips called a microphone and sang into it. Lo-and-behold, her words were amplified. It was astonishing. Yes, concert-goers were shocked when Britney Spears actually sang at a recent concert, belting out a cover of Alanis Morissette's classic "You Oughta Know"- otherwise known as the "Psycho Ex-Girlfriend National Anthem."

And to be perfectly honest, she wasn't that bad. She should try singing more often. If Britney ever wants to be taken seriously as a performer, she really needs to quit the whole lip syncing shtick. She just proved she can do it.

In other Britney news, she will be releasing The Singles Collection in November 2009, which will be a double disc release of re-recorded, remixed and revised versions of 18 of Spears' singles. Britney will be working alongside Moby, Bloodshy & Avant, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Danja.

Cut. It. Out. Alanis Morissette has once again written songs that rant about her ex. In her 1990's breakthrough hit, her anger was directed at "Full House" toolshed Dave Coulier who was the rumored focus of her song "You Oughta Know." However, now it seems Alanis is unleashing her wrath on her latest ex, actor Ryan Reynolds, who is now engaged to Scarlett Johansson.

One song goes like this (sung to the tune of "You Oughta Know"): "Scarlett may be hotter than me/ but will she drink your pee?/ I hate to bug you in the middle of breakfast."

Okay, so we made that up — but it's good, no? Alanis' new album "Flavors of Entanglement" hits stores this week.

Alanis told the AP: "One of the main themes of this record is this recovery, rising up from the ashes so to speak. So it's sort of an unraveling of my own personal life, hitting my own rock bottom and rising up. … I didn't even realize it while I was writing the record, but it definitely goes through all the stages of grief."
