Amanda Beard Sues Tanning Salon

Amanda Beard, known for her nude PETA ad, her nude Playboy pictorial and oh yeah, her Olympic medal swimming, has sued a tanning salon company in California, claiming it used her name and image without permission.

TMZ reports that Beard filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court claims ProSun posted the her picture on its Web site "to create the impression that Beard endorses ProSun products," and she is seeking more than $25,000 in damages.

A spokesman for ProSun claims the company took the photos of Beard in question at a charity event and has the right to use them as it wishes.

Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps refuses to reveal who his girlfriend is. However, he confirms to Extra TV's Dayna Devon that it isn't fellow Olympian Amanda Beard.

"No, I'm not dating Amanda Beard," Phelps said. "I'll say that. I think she has a boyfriend."

However, when the eight-time Beijing Olympic gold medalist was asked who his main squeeze is, he said, "Part of my life is kept to myself. I'm able to relax and be with my friends. Those pretty much are the only people who really know the answer to that question."

Phelps does reveal to Devon that his celebrity crush is actress Cameron Diaz, saying, "She seems like she has a cool personality."

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton also speculates that Phelps' lady love might be British model Lily Donaldson.

Even though Phelps is done with swimming, there's still plenty of Beijing Olympics betting to be done!

The head of PETA's marketing department deserves a gold star. Why, you ask? Well PETA has managed to get hotties out of their clothes and into their ad campaigns. Making the world a better place for animals just got a whole lot sexier.

Now U.S. Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard is taking it off for the organization with the teaser, "Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin. Don't Wear Fur." Amanda posed nude to help raise awareness of the cruelty to animals within the fur industry.

Who said swimming is boring?

Amanda Beard, an American swimmer who has won seven Olympic medals will appear nude in the upcoming July 2007 issue of Playboy. She will be featured on the cover and in a nude pictorial.

"The record-breaking swimmer loses her swimsuit for a mouth-watering layout" is how the good people at Playboy describe her nude photos.

Of course, this isn't the first nude celebrity to grace the pages of Playboy, nor is it the first nude female athlete. Figure skater Katarina Witt, boxer Mia St. John, volleyballer player Gabrielle Reece and high jumper Amy Acuff have all posed naked for Hugh Hefner's magazine of sexy pictures.
