At a festival held at the White House to celebrate Hispanic music and culture Barack Obama, Michelle, the Obama children, Gloria Estafan, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, George Lopez and Jennifer Lopez gathered together for a big old party. A singer named Thalia inspired the president with her Latin flair so much, that he got up from his table and busted a move with her. Let's just say if George Bush did this, it would probably be fodder for America's Funniest Home Videos. However, Obama is like the James Bond of presidents. He can have a beer summit, bodysurf and basically, do it all.

However, TMZ paints a different picture of the Obama-Thalia salsa when they note that after shaking his presidential booty, Obama sat back down at his table and was ignored by his wife Michelle. It is true that she doesn't respond to him after he engages her in conversation, but was she just distracted or really pissed about his Rico Suave moves with Thalia? Bodog's got all your business and political props.

At 6:00 a.m. EDT Friday morning, President Barack Obama received a phone call from the Norwegian Nobel Committee with news that he had won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Shocking, I know. But also very cool, right? Here's the thing, I couldn't find a quote from Obama to use in this blog post (the call literally came in while the man was still in bed and you just don't wake the prez up like that)…but apparently Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa, who won the award back in 1984, was on the ball early enough to provide this quote:

"It's an award coming near the beginning of the first term of office of a relatively young president that anticipates an *evn gratr onriutontoars akngou wrl asaerplacefo all. It is an award that speaks to the promise of President Obama's message of hope."

Okay so maybe he wasn't all that awake, either. What does "evn gratr onriutontoars akngou wrl asaerplacefo all" mean? (I think that was MSNBC's subtle way of saying that maybe next time they should make that big Nobel Peace Prize call a little later on in the day when we're all a little more coherent.)

Why did Obama win the Nobel Peace Prize?

The Nobel Committee dug Obama's creation of "a new climate in international politics" and said he had returned multilateral diplomacy and institutions like the U.N. to the center of the world stage.

"You have to remember that the world has been in a pretty dangerous phase," committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland said. "And anybody who can contribute to getting the world out of this situation deserves a Nobel Peace Prize."

Former Polish President Lech Walsea didn't dig the idea of Obama getting the Nobel, however.

"So soon? Too early. He has no contribution so far. He is still at an early stage. He is only beginning to act," said Walesa, who picked up the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983.

"This is probably an encouragement for him to act. Let's see if he perseveres. Let's give him time to act," Walesa said.

Yes, let's. And in the meantime, let's give Obama some well-deserved props. Woohoo!!

Bodog's got all your business and political props.
Don't have a Bodog account? Join Bodog now. It's FREE. It's fun.

*I swear that was the quote they ran on MSNBC.com this morning. They have since corrected it. Or rather, they edited that part out.

President Barack Obama appeared on David Letterman's The Late Show to make one last pitch for health care reform. Before Obama came out, Letterman read his ten reasons why the president had agreed to do it. Among Letterman's Top Ten List: Obama said yes without thinking about it, "Like Bush did with Iraq."

The two joked initially, with Letterman asking Obama about Jimmy Carter’s assertion that racism is behind recent political attacks, Obama responded, “It’s important to realize that I was actually black before the election.”

Obama then turned the conversation to health care and the public outcry over it.

"This is not untypical," he said. "One of the things you sign up for in politics is folks yell at you."

"When it gets done – like when social security got done and when medicare got done, people are going to realize this was the right way to go.

"Your job is more difficult that my job," Letterman said. "That's what I've learned here tonight."

It's official. Barack Obama is a president of the people and is totally on the ball when it comes to his pop culture news. Obama was recently in a press conference and commented on the whole Kanye West-Taylor Swift debacle: "I thought that was really inappropriate. She was getting an award, why are you butting in? The young lady seems like a perfectly nice person, she's getting her award, what's he doing up there? He's a jackass."

Obama was speaking off the record, however the audio stream leaked by ABC News anyway. Terry Moran, who co-hosts Nightline, posted this update on the micro-blogging website last night saying: "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential."

Taylor Swift has accepted an apology made by West after she made an appearance on The View and complained that West had not yet offered her a personal apology.

We love golfing on a Sunday afternoon, so why can't famous politicians do the same thing?

It is a great escape from the job at hand, the game demands such attention that nothing else matters and it is time spent with friends.

So with what friends do some of the most famous politicians like to partner up?

Among President Gerald R. Ford's favorite pastimes was playing golf. He played in the Bob Hope Classic for 23 years, the highlight coming in 1995 when he and Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush played with tournament host Bob Hope and professional Scott Hoch. It marked the first time a sitting president played in the Classic and the first time three presidents had played together.

President Barack Obama has gone to the golf course over 10 times since he took the oath of office a little more than seven months ago, including a round on Father’s Day with Vice President Joe Biden.

We all know President Barack Obama loves his sports. Tonight he will be in the Fox broadcast booth for the All-Star game as well as tossing the first pitch.

A Fox spokesman said Monday that Obama will join Joe Buck and Tim McCarver for the telecast from Busch Stadium but that the inning had not yet been determined.

Odds are good it will be early so the President can enjoy the game.

Obama will throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols will be on the receiving end.

How much you want to bet he throws a slider for a strike?

Bodog has Obama's first pitch being caught in the air listed at -500, with anything else listed at +350.

So far the President seems to have his business in order, so why would you even think about betting against him?

Stephen Colbert, host of The Colbert Report, had his head shaved his head in an effort to support his troops during the inaugural episode of Operation Iraqi Stephen: Going Commando. Colbert hopes to bring attention to the six year war which has been swept under the rug since the news of the recession has been the forefront of media reporting.

The show was taped from Camp Victory in Baghdad on Sunday and the audience filled with troops loved it when his first guest, Gen. Ray Odierno, accepted a videotaped order from President Obama to shave Colbert's head. The crowd went nuts when Odierno began to carry out his orders.

Colbert hilariously told the troops: "It must be nice here in Iraq because I understand some of you keep coming back again and again. You've earned so many frequent flyer miles, you've earned a free ticket to Afghanistan."

Of all the promises Barack Obama made during his campaign, the promise that he would give his daughters a puppy during his victory speech might be the one Americans will remember the most.

"Sasha and Malia," the president said, "I love you both more than you can imagine. And you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the White House."

Now finally, the Obamas are turning that promise into a reality and have chosen the new First Dog. The president's daughters, 10-year-old Malia and 7-year-old Sasha, have settled on a black and white pup named Charlie whom they will rename Bo. The Washington Post reports they chose this name because their cousins have a cat named Bo and first lady Michelle Obama's father was nicknamed Diddley – Bo Diddley. The pup, a gift from Senator Kennedy who owns several Portuguese water dogs himself, will arrive at the White House on Thursday afternoon.

Charlie (a.k.a. "Bo") was originally sold to someone who returned it to a Texas kennel, the same kennel which had sold Kennedy 3 Portuguese Water Dogs in the past.

Secret meetings between Bo and the Obamas were held last week and the Post reports that they "hit it off." For all the fuzzy action, check out these Bo Obama pics. He's cute. Damn cute.

President Barack Obama became the only sitting president to sit down with Jay Leno on the Tonight Show last night and there has been some controversy about a cringe worthy moment when Obama compared his bowling skills to the Special Olympics. Abort mission! Obama already sent out apologies to the organization, but, well damage done.

Obama seemed relieved to be out of Washington for the night, comparing Congress to American Idol but with everyone playing the role of Simon Cowell. Now here's a guy who knows how to communicate to the masses in laymans terms!

Smartly, Obama also discussed his rage over the controversial AIG bonuses and the chord it has struck with the American people.

"You know, the immediate bonuses that went to AIG are a problem. But the larger problem is we've got to get back to an attitude where people know enough is enough, and people have a sense of responsibility and they understand that their actions are going to have an impact on everybody. And if we can get back to those values that built America, then I think we're going to be okay."

Obama also commented on implementing regulations when it comes to mortgages and finances so that the bubble and bust house of cards don't come down again.

"When you buy a toaster, if it explodes in your face there's a law that says your toasters need to be safe. But when you get a credit card, or you get a mortgage, there's no law on the books that says if that explodes in your face financially, somehow you're going to be protected.

"So this is — the need for getting back to some common sense regulations — there's nothing wrong with innovation in the financial markets. We want people to be successful; we want people to be able to make a profit. Banks are critical to our economy and we want credit to flow again. But we just want to make sure that there's enough regulatory common sense in place that ordinary Americans aren't taken advantage of, and taxpayers, after the fact, aren't taken advantage of."

Obama said so many great things on Leno's show, but alas – the Special Olympics gaffe will be the one thing people hold on to. Bogus! If you missed it, you can watch Obama on Leno here.
