Tacked onto the end of the World Series of Poker, the World Poker Tour's Bellagio Cup usually draws in a fairly sizable field, despite the higher-than-normal buy-in ($15,000) and the possibility of depleted bankrolls after two months of playing continuous events. However, this year, and mainly due to the state of the economy, the WPT Bellagio Cup V drew in a paltry 268 players.

However, however, that didn't stop the tournament from producing what poker pro Erik Seidel referred to as the “toughest final table” in WPT history and yet another WPT-Made Millionaire. At that final table was Seidel himself, online poker pro Justin "BoostedJ" Smith, Alec Torelli, Christoffer Sonesson, Faraz Jaka and the eventual champion Alex Gomes.

Gomes walked away with $1,187,670 for first place, putting his career tournament winning at $2.7 million after only a year of playing in major poker tournaments. Not bad at all. His previous large cashes both hovered around the $750k mark and were for a fourth place finish at the EPT PCA and a WSOP bracelet win last year in the $2,000 No Limit Hold'em event.

If you want a shot at becoming the next WPT-Made Millionaire, head over ot the Bodog Poker room and check out the Bodog Flight Club promotion where you can qualify online for the WPT for as little as $1.

Yes, that is a picture from the WSOP, but that's because we're at the Rio sweating out the drive to the November Nine. However, over at the Bellagio, the WPT Bellagio Cup V is moving into Day 2 and Bodog Poker pro Justin Bonomo is sitting pretty near the top of the leaderboard.

The $15,000 buy-in tournament drew out 268 players, most of whom busted out of the WSOP and walked over to the Bellagio and dropped down the money to take a seat. Off the top of our heads we can name David Benyamine, Bertrand "elKy" Grospellier, Prahlad Friedman and Joe Serock as players who ran deep in the 2009 WSOP Main Event and are now playing in this event just days, or even hours, later.

There are currently 218 players remaining with Alec Torelli as the chip leader with 308,675. Behind him are Cornel Cimpan (285,000), Michael Mizrachi (182,700) and Bonomo (175,675), all in the top ten. Other notables in the top half of the standings include Tim Phan, the aforemention Grospellier, Isaac Haxton, Hoyt Corkins, Jeff Madsen and several others.

They will play a grand total of five levels today and then call it quits (lucky, we'll be at the WSOP until at least 4am by all estimates). Check out the WPT live updates crew for all of your tournament news and if you want to qualify for as little as $1 to play in a WPT even yourself, then check out the Bodog Flight Club promotion.

Well, it's been about 48 hours since the decidedly non-star-studded final table of the 2008 WSOP was set and the WPT has already produced a final table that contains several big names. No pressure WSOP, but how's about stepping it up a bit?

Anyway, the WPT televised final table for the Bellagio Cup IV was set very early this morning and six players (remember, the WPT goes down to six) will be battling it out for the $1,673,770 first-place prize. The leader of those six is noted online poker pro Mike "SirWatts" Watson with about 5 million in chips. He is followed by poker pros David Benyamine, just 200k behind at 4.8 million, and John "The Razor" Phan, who has 4.5 million. The bottom half of the chip counts belongs to online poker pro Luke "IWEARGOGGLES" Staudenmaier, poker pro Ralph Perry and Gabriel Thaler.

Yesterday's play began with 32 players and went on for more than 12 hours. During that time, we lost David "The Dragon" Pham, Hevad "Rain" Kahn, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Alaei before cementing the final six. As a sidenote, Bodog poker pro Justin Bonomo cashed in this event, finishing 93rd for $19,390.

The WPT final table gets underway in the Grand Ballroom at the Bellagio at 5pm local time, so come back here for updates on all the action. If you want a chance to become a WPT-Made Millionaire, then head over to Bodog Poker and check out all of the WPT online poker qualifiers and get the chance to travel to exotic locations and play in world-class poker tournaments.

Just in case you though that the 2008 WSOP Main Event was the only game in town right now, you're wrong. The $15,000 WPT Bellagio Cup IV is going on just down the road at the, you know, Bellagio and has pulled in quite an impressive field, mainly because everybody that busted out of the WSOP Main Event went down and bought into that event.

So, there are 446 participants in that tournament and they have generated a $1,673,770 first-place prize and there are currently 228 players left. A lot of big names have shown up for the event and there are still quite a few still out in the field, including Joe Sebok, Barry Greenstein, Gavin Smith, Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Isaac Haxton and Phil Laak, all with above-average stacks.

Team Bodog poker pro Justin Bonomo is sitting on a stack of 39,500, which puts him just below average but with plenty of room to move. Payouts start at 100th place, so there's still a way to go. If we get a chance to tear ourselves away from the Rio and head down to the Bellagio, we'll keep you posted on all of the happenings. And don't forget that you can qualify online for WPT events on Bodog Poker with the Player's Choice packages.
