When you go to place a bet this weekend on that big New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys NFL football game, those Montreal Canadiens hockey futures or the important Chelsea-Tottenham England Premier League soccer match, you may notice something different on Bodog.com, Bodog.ca or Bodog.co.uk.

As if placing your online wagers at Bodog wasn't easy enough already, the No. 1 betting site on the Web has rolled out redesigned deposit pages to make the process that much simpler. And what better time to do this than early in the NFL and Premier League seasons and on the eve of the NHL season.

Why fix what wasn't broken, you might ask? The new deposit pages were redesigned to make it easier for our players to make quick deposits as well as provide a more consistent look to the rest of the site. They also include improvements such as:

Streamlined deposit process: You want your account active and the money in there as quick as possible so you can get in those last-minute bets.

Simplified forms: Creating an account and depositing money shouldn't be akin to taking a college exam. Our new forms are so easy you might as well use crayon.

Instant customer service: You can call us at 1-866-950-3500 in the United States, 1-866-950-9300 in Canada, 00-800-1004-2004 in the United Kingdom, or simply click on the "Live Chat Support" button prominently displayed on any of Bodog's sites to be connected almost immediately to a courteous employee who can solve any of your problems.

As always, you still have a myriad of deposit options and our payout system is the fastest in the business.

And don't think we've stopped with our deposit page redesign: More improvements to the site will be coming over the next few months.

The next time you log on to Bodog.com, Bodog.ca or Bodog.co.uk, take a quick look around. You'll see that our quality service hasn't changed, but we think you'll find it that much easier to make a deposit.

The college football season gets underway tonight with an ACC-SEC matchup down in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The N.C. State Wolfpack will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in their opener for the second straight season.

A year ago, the Pack got roasted 34-0 by the Gamecocks in a game that was painful to watch for South Carolina fans. Russell Wilson got knocked out of the game with a concussion.

State is looking for a better outcome this time around, and the Wolfpack think that last year's experience can only help.

The fortunes of South Carolina appear to be squarely on the shoulders of sophomore quarterback Stephen Garcia. The departures of WR Kenny Mckinley and TE Jared Cook won't help an offense that led the nation in interceptions a year ago.

State is a 5-point favorite and you can bet live as the game plays out on Bodog Live!

Based on how many athletes seem to live on Twitter all day, it is hard to believe they have time for the sport they play.

Giants QB Eli Manning is on Twitter, most likely talking about his giant new contract extension.

Snowboarder Shaun White and skateboarder Mike Vallely have been known to tweet from time to time.

One of the most famous athletes on Twitter has to be Shaquille O’Neal. He loves to have fun on the micro-blogging site, calling out other athletes and challenging the likes of David Beckham to duels.

Want to follow a golfer? How about Natalie Gulbis? She is certainly worth checking out.

Michael Phelps is on there, probably twittering from the deep end.

Bicyclist Lance Armstrong will have a lot more time for tweets now that the Tour de France is over. Seems fitting that someone who is used to being in front of the pack has thousands of followers online.

Place your bets in the Bodog Sportsbook!

The recession is nothing new to us all. We have been hearing about how it has been hurting everyone. Large corporations like GM have filed for bankruptcy and the unemployment rate is through the roof.

So is it hurting professional sports?

Of course it is. Attendance is down across the board, and even in beautiful new ballparks like in New York City.

Teams have to spend more wisely, and for most it means not making that risky move that could pay off in a playoff run.

In the NHL, the Phoenix Coyotes are in limbo, waiting to see if someone wants to buy them because they can't afford to run as is.

Many teams have had to cut back in front office positions and some of the staff that would normally help the team out on the road.

Thankfully fans can still watch most sports on TV for free, otherwise it would be really bad.

Get odds on all the pro sports in the Bodog Sportsbook!

Chuck Liddell took a beating from Rashad Evans and by doing so he fattened the wallets of more than a few MMA bettors. Having said that, you won’t want to miss UFC 89 and your shot at making a few bucks:

1. You’ll get to see Michael Bisping beat another weak contender at home in England.

2. Brandon Vera is likely to get knocked out by hard-hitting striker Keith Jardine.

3. Luiz Cane should put a beating on the “African Assassin” Rameau Sokoudjou.

4. Chris Lytle should have an easy time with Paul Taylor.

5. Because the card is in England, you can expect a lot of stand-up fighting and knockouts.

6. You don’t have to pay to see the card; it’s free for everyone on Spike.

7. Undefeated Paul Kelly will look to keep his eight-fight win streak alive against Marcus Davis.

8. Undefeated 265-pound heavyweight Shane Carwin will look to roll through undefeated Neil Wain.

9. The fights will start a little earlier (9pm ET) because they’re in England.

10. We’ll see if Brandon Vera can fight at 205 pounds, or if he will gas out again.

With the NFL regular season entering its third week and the MLB playoffs looming, sports bettors ought to be armed with more than a wing and a prayer when looking for that big win. Here are some tips to help fatten your wallet:

Look for value: A lot of time teams or players sneak in under the radar when the odds are being set. This is especially true in sports like golf and racing. Always look for value, the bettor’s real best friend.

Jump on bad lines: If you spot what you believe to be a bad line get your money on it right away. If a line truly is bad it won’t be that way for very long

Keep up-to-date on your sports news: If a big player gets injured and you make your bets without knowing about it you could make some really bad bets. Instead of wasting time on Facebook check the latest news on an hourly basis.

Be trendy: Don’t listen to your buddy who says trends are a load of B.S. If trends were really garbage people wouldn’t use up hordes of time compiling them, now would they?

Don’t bet on “your” teams: Make a list of your favorite teams and avoid betting on them. Most fans either overvalue or undervalue their teams and their bankroll ends up paying the price. No, your team isn’t really that good!

Don’t play huge parlays: Don’t be one of those idiots who tries to cash in on the big time by playing a 12-team parlay which is worth tens of thousands of dollars. You’d be better off just lighting your money on fire, because either way you’re getting burned.

Make your bets early: Don’t wait until two minutes before kickoff or tipoff or puck drop before making your bets. Some of the best lines available are the early lines, and even if they’re not you don’t want to be rushing to get your bets in and accidentally bet on the wrong team.

Manage your money properly: If your bankroll consists of $100 don’t be making $25 bets. The size of your bets should be determined by the size of your bankroll, not by the odds or how much of a “lock” you think a game is.

There’s no such thing as a “lock”: The words “lock” or “guaranteed” should never be uttered when it comes to betting. The only thing that is a “lock” is that you won’t win every game you bet on.

Pace yourself: Don’t make a deposit in your betting account and then immediately wager every single dollar on that night’s game. You’re not going to get rich overnight, so don’t bother trying. Want to try out these theories? Throw down in the Bodog Sportsbook today!

After 19 years of sports radio, the Mike and the Mad Dog show could be coming to an end.

There's been rumors that the two hosts, Mike Francesa and Christopher "Mad Dog" Russo have been feuding off air and that the strained partnership is the reason for the show's demise. Russo, on the other hand, denies that the show is coming to an end.

"That is news to me," he told Newsday.com. "I have not heard that… That is fascinating information."

"The only thing I can say is I am signed under contract for another year and a half. I don't think WFAN is going to let me out of that… I wish I had leverage like that."

Russo did, however, acknowledge that there have been issues in their working relationship.

"I think we've been going through that," but he added, "I think we've been fine the last couple of months."

Russo is under contract until 2009 but it's unknown whether Francesa signed an extension.
