Brock Lesnar is ill and his fighting career may be over, according to UFC's Dana White.

The UFC heavyweight champion was sick with mono and had to cancel a fight. However, Lesnar took a turn for the worse after collapsing in Canada last week. White has told TMZ today that Lesnar is "very, very sick" with some sort of intestinal disorder that will require "major surgery." Lesnar is currently being treated at a North Dakota hospital, but White has said that he is not suffering from cancer – or AIDS. Thanks for clearing that up, Dana! White is also trying to get Lesnar treated at the famous Mayo Clinic.

There's a possibility Lesnar will never fight again," White said.

The announcement was made Monday and I somehow missed it? Darn. If you are going to be in Las Vegas on Nov. 21 then plan to get a ticket to UFC 106 being held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. UFC Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is defending his title against an undefeated Shane Carwin and by all accounts it's going to be awesome.

"Brock Lesnar has been tearing through everyone over the last year," UFC President Dana White told the Las Vegas Sun. "But in Shane Carwin, he's not only fighting someone as big as he is, he's fighting someone who has ended all of his fights in less than three minutes. This is literally the biggest heavyweight title fight ever and may also be the most explosive."

Carwin is 6-foot-3 and weighs 262 pounds. Lesnar is also 6-foot-3 and weighs 265 pounds.

"I was extremely excited when I got the news that I was fighting Brock," said Carwin. "I couldn't even sleep that night."

And what does Lesnar think of Carwin?

"I'm looking forward to fighting Shane Carwin. He's undefeated and I’m the man who is going to put an end to that," Lesnar said.

Tito Ortiz is also making his return to the UFC that same night in a fight with UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman.

Tickets for UFC 106 go on sale Saturday, Sept. 19 at noon MDT and it will also be available live on pay-per-view on iN DEMAND, DIRECTV, DISH Network, TVN, BellTV, Shaw Communications and Viewer's Choice Canada.

When Brock Lesnar took down Randy Couture in the second round of UFC 91 last night, he became just the second man to take the heavyweight title in just his fourth fight. The other? Couture himself.

The 6′3″, 265 pounder was just too much for the five-time champion Couture who hadn't fought in over a year, but the 45-year-old legend couldn't help but praise the new champion.

At 3-1 Lesnar now has the disctinction of being not only the UFC heavyweight champion, but the victory of what was dubbed as one of the biggest fights in UFC history.

Coming off a 90 second loss in his first UFC fight, matchmakers at the UFC are already considering who Brock Lesnar (1-1-0) will face for his next match in the octagon. So far, everything seems to be pointing towards octagon veteran Justin "The Insane One" McCully (8-3-2).

McCully, a team mate of former UFC champion Tito Ortiz (15-5-1), has had only one fight in the UFC; a win over Antoni Hardonk (6-4-0) by unanimous decision in April 2007.

Speaking on "Inside MMA" on HDNet, McCully confirmed the match was in the works. "We’ve been talking about fighting this big, huge guy who just crossed over from a wrestling promotion," he said. "That’s in talks right now. I hope it comes through. I really like that fight."

Lesnar lost to Frank Mir (11-3-0) at UFC 81: Breaking Point, Feb. 2 in Las Vegas, NV. Not including unreleased bonuses, he earned $250,000 for the fight, which brought in over 650,000 pay-per-view orders, making it the third most selling UFC in event history.

McCully was expected to fight Cheick Kongo (11-3-1) in March, but did not take the fight due to an injury.

Despite losing in just 90 seconds to Frank Mir (11-3), in his UFC debut, former WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar (1-1) turned UFC 81: Breaking Point into a winner.

According to The Wrestling Observer, Lesnar's first fight in the octagon brought in approximately 650,000 pay-per-view "buys", making it the third-most successful UFC in octagon history. Only UFC 66: Liddell vs. Ortiz II in December 2006 and UFC 61: Bitter Rivals in July 2006 sold better.

UFC 81: Breaking Point took place Saturday, Feb. 2 in Las Vegas, Nev. The event was headlined by an interim title fight between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (31-4-1) and Tim Sylvia (24-4-0), where Nogueira beat Sylvia by choke in the third round.

Lesnar came out strong against Mir and appeared to be winning the fight until a kneebar submission forced him to tap out early in the first round. Lesnar was the highest-paid fighter of the event and earned $250,000 for his fight, not including unreported bonuses. Nogueira earned $200,000 by defeating Sylvia, who received $100,000.

Fresh off a loss to newly-crowned UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (31-4-1), heavyweight Tim Sylvia (24-4-0) is hinting that he might jump ship and move to another organization.

But his bitter loss to the Brazilian champion isn't the reason. Instead, Sylvia is upset that wrestling superstar Brock Lesnar (1-1-0) earned more in his UFC debut than Sylvia did for the championship fight.

"I have one fight left on my contract," Sylvia writes at tim-sylvia.com. “I want to stay with the UFC, but I am going to go where the money is. Right now Brock [Lesnar] is making more money than me. That has to change. I have a better name than him, and I am a better fighter than him."

Lesnar earned $250,000 for his fight with Frank Mir (11-3-0), which lasted only 90-seconds before Lesnar was forced to tap out due to a kneebar submission. Sylvia earned $100,000 for his losing efforts against Nogueira, plus another $60,000 for winning "Fight of the Night".

In the face of such glowing disrespect, Sylvia is saying he may leave the UFC.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir (11-3-0) says he was surprised that Brock Lesnar (1-1-0) took him down immediately in their fight, Feb. 2 at UFC 81: Breaking Point.

"I really thought that he would have more fear of the jiu-jitsu game that I possess, and would choose to opt to stand on the feet and try to use his wrestling," Mir tells MMAweekly.com. "I mean let’s face it, I couldn’t take that guy down if I wanted to."

Instead, Lesnar dumped Mir to the mat in the opening seconds of the fight, and unleashed a brutal series of punches and hammerfists, some of which hit Mir on the back of the head, prompting referee Steve Mazagatti to re-start the fight with both athletes standing. Again, Lesnar shot in and took Mir to the mat.

"The only thing that surprised me was his quickness," Mir explains. "It’s hard to really think that when you see a guy who’s cutting down to 265 [pounds], there’s just no way this guy’s going to be that quick. You know what? He’s quick!"

Quickly after the second takedown, Mir locked on a tight kneebar submission that forced Lesnar to tap out, or suffer a broken leg. Now, Mir is wondering who he'll be facing next, and thinks a re-match with Tim Sylvia (24-4-0) might be a good choice.

"I can start fighting guys who are ranked and start improving my own standing, putting myself in title contingency," he explains. "Obviously, the Tim fight is always going to sell."
