Yes folks – it's the hottest thing on Google Trends right now. People are furiously searching "Tiger Woods fart" because, well, we don't know – but we're writing about it to get more traffic. Who's more pathetic? Us for writing about it, or you for searching for it? So apparently, Tiger Woods ripped it up at the Buick Open Golf Tournament, (the 18th hole, to be exact).

The school of thought going right now is that the fart did come from Tiger himself, although there is speculation that a sound guy, or someone with an iPhone iFart application was feeling saucy. Whoever the culprit was, both Tiger and his caddy Steve Williams thought it was awesome.

Apparently, Tiger has farted at other golf tournaments. The Inquisitor did some digging and found that Woods had let one rip before. They report, "Strangely this isn’t the first time Woods has sealed an event with a fart, having also farted when he won the Arnold Palmer invitational in March."

Unfortunately, we can't bring you the video, as the crusty old PGA is claiming copyright to it. Very unfair. Can't they give us the Tiger Woods fart? We don't ask for much in life. Anyway, not that you care but Tiger Woods won his third Buick Open after shooting a 3 under par in the final round.

So now that you saw Tiger Woods play like a mortal at the British Open, is he still your bet heading into this week’s Buick Open?

Tiger heads to Michigan trying to gear up to take his run at the final major of the year. It will be interesting to see if he swings like he did in his three wins, or like he did in his three major losses.

Regardless, Woods is the favorite to win the Buick Open, listed at +137 when players teed off.

Looking for a reason to tune in other than Tiger? What about John Daly?

Daly's rebirth continues this weekend in familiar territory. If you recall, this is where he unleashed that infamous beer-can tee shot of last year.

It would be great to see him challenging on Sunday again, but at +15000 to win don’t get your hopes up.

2009 Buick Open: Opening Round Thursday, July 30

He didn't compete in it last year nor did he play in it the year before, but Buick Open organizers have confirmed today that Tiger Woods will be playing for the win at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club for the 2009 Buick Open.

"We are very fortunate and honored the world's number one-ranked player has decided to play the Buick Open," said Larry Peck, national promotions manager for Buick-GMC.

"There is no doubt Tiger brings an elevated excitement level to Warwick Hills whenever he plays and we are delighted to share the news with Michigan fans."

Woods missed the cut at Turnberry last week and was effectively shut out of winning the British Open. Perhaps in an attempt to redeem himself, Woods is making the effort to put the Buick Open back on his schedule.

"I just made mistakes," Woods is quoted as saying on his official website . "And obviously you can't make mistakes and expect to not only make the cut but also try and win a championship. You have to play clean rounds of golf, and I didn't. I made my share of mistakes out there today and didn't play a very clean card."

Hells ya! Here's to superb finish at the Buick Open, Tiger! We missed seeing you at the British Open.

Now will be the true test of the PGA's collective mettle.

With its top-ranked player and virtual poster boy Tiger Woods out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, the tour suddenly takes on a new dynamic. Who'll step up in Tiger's absence? We'll find out this weekend at the Buick Open from Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan.

One familiar name in the field is Rocco Mediate, who took Tiger to a 19-hole playoff at the US Open before falling one stroke short. Mediate won the Open in 2000 and is looking to carry over the momentum from Torrey Pines.

Also in the field? John Daly. While he's more sideshow than actual tourney contender, there's no mistaking the impact he has on golf fans. People love him and want to drink with him – he'll probably spice up the gallery given how fun he is to watch.

The defending champ, Brian Bateman, has battled through recent shoulder injury to get back into the 2008 field. "Although I've had injuries this year, last year it was more just trying something new every week and hoping to find the magic. And for some reason when I arrived here last year, getting off to a good start, my putter was cooperating, which had not been the case for most of the year, and got through Saturday and came through Sunday and there were 20 guys I think within four shots of the lead," Bateman told the Daily Tribune. "So I knew that if I worried about what anybody else was doing, that it was not going to get me anywhere."

Bodog has all the updated odds and lines for the 2008 Buick Open available now. Jim Furyk is the odds-on favorite to win at 9/1, followed by Kenny Perry (11/1), Justin Leonard (14/1) and Heath Slocum (22/1). Check out all the PGA golf betting options available now!
