Chicago Blackhawk star player Patrick Kane got really pissed off over a cab driver over twenty cents. Yes, you read that correctly – twenty cents. Apparently, Kane and his cousin paid $15 for a $13.80 cab ride and when the driver didn't have the twenty cents in change to give them, the pair gave the cabbie a knuckle sandwich.

The Buffalo News reports, "The pair allegedly punched the cab driver and grabbed money they had handed him after he told them he didn't have twenty cents in coins to give them their change," the report said." The report went on to say, "The cab driver told police he was punched in the face and head, grabbed by the throat and had his glasses broken during the incident."

The 20-year-old forward and his cuz have been charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services. Kane was the top overall pick in the 2007 NHL draft.

Detroit routed the Chicago Blackhawks 6-1 Sunday and took a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference final, and they did it without Nicklas Lidstrom.

Rookie Jonathan Ericsson filled in for the six-time Norris Trophy-winning defenseman, and the defending champions didn't miss a beat.

Still, as well as Ericsson played, Detroit hopes it won't have to replace Lidstrom again in Game 5 tonight with a chance to reach the Stanley Cup final.

Joel Quenneville said his team would wait until today to determine if No. 1 goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin and leading scorer Martin Havlat will be on the ice to help avoid elimination.

Khabibulin has been out since playing the first two periods of Game 3 because of a lower-body injury. He was replaced by Cristobal Huet, who allowed five of Detroit’s six goals in Game 5. Pavel Datsyuk missed practice Thursday before the Red Wings departed for Chicago, but his coach and teammates were hoping he'd be able to go against the Blackhawks tonight.

Datsyuk was struck by a puck during Detroit's 3-2 overtime win in Game 2 on Tuesday night. Maybe is does not matter since Datsyuk has scored just one goal in 13 playoff games.

Osgood, who had 37 saves in Game 2, and the play of Nicklas Lidstrom defensively have made up for lack of goals from their top players. Bet on NHL in the Bodog Sportsbook.

Osgood, who already has been a part of three Stanley Cup winners, is 10-3 so far in the playoffs. Can the Blackhawks get a win in front of the expected wild crowd at the United Center, or will they be one game closer to a summer off?

The Chicago Blackhawks can't say the same when their big guns don't fill the net.

Patrick Kane scored eight goals over the first two rounds against Calgary and Vancouver, but quickly found out his talents can be negated by Detroit.

Kane was held without a shot after getting blanked in the column just three times during the regular season, including once last month against the Red Wings.

The Blackhawks' other young star, Jonathan Toews, also discovered playing the Flames or Canucks isn't quite like facing Detroit, as he was held to three shots and no points in the series opener.

Detroit has rarely had to worry about its top stars carrying the team because of its depth, and that trend is continuing early in this series.
If they keep it up they could find themselves out of the Stanley Cup playoffs in a hurry.

In all three games of their Western Conference semifinals against the Vancouver Canucks, the Blackhawks have fallen into an early hole.

They were down 3-0 in Game 1 before rallying to tie, only to lose 5-3.

In Game 2, they fell behind 2-0, caught up and then took the lead on a shorthanded goal on their way to a 6-3 victory.

And on Tuesday night, back at home, they found themselves staring at a 3-0 deficit before the Canucks recaptured home-ice advantage with a 3-1 victory.

Chicago has been spending too much time in the penalty box early. During the three games, they have been called for 10 first-period penalties.
The Canucks split the four-game regular-season series with Chicago, winning the final two. Vancouver goaltender Roberto Luongo posted a shutout against Chicago in late March at the United Center.

After a short breather before starting the series at Vancouver, the Blackhawks won’t have time to look back and consider what they’ve accomplished so far against the physical but injury-riddled Flames.

The Canucks, who are listed at +500 to win the Stanley Cup, have had time to get healthy. That means Mats Sundin isn’t expected to miss the start of the second round, which is good news for Vancouver backers.

The Flames captain was nowhere to be found in Game 5, which Calgary lost 5-1 in Chicago on Saturday night.

The injury-riddled Flames will need every advantage home ice gives them to avoid a first-round ousting for the fourth straight season.

Dion Phaneuf is the latest to join Calgary's long injury list. Chicago's Troy Brouwer leveled Phaneuf after the Flames defenseman unloaded a shot on net. Phaneuf wobbled to the bench and did not return to the game.

He is listed as day to day, which of course is the standard postseason response. Calgary managed just 20 shots on Nikolai Khabibulin in Game 5, partly because of the team’s injuries up front. Get your NHL odds with Bodog now.

In the closing moments, Chicago's Adam Burish broke his stick on Rene Bourque's shoulder and an irate Jarome Iginla wanted a piece of Burish in the ensuing melee in front of the Blackhawks' bench.

Chicago star Patrick Kane practiced Tuesday after sitting out Game 3 with what the Blackhawks said was the flu. There was some debate over whether Kane had the flu or was suffering from the thunderous check Bourque dealt him in Game 2 in Chicago.

So the stage is set for an acrimonious Game 4 and it is a game the Calgary Flames must have or they will be in a deep hole. The Blackhawks are 5-1 in the last six meetings in Calgary.
Down 2-0 in their Western Conference quarterfinal series because they couldn't protect leads in Chicago, the Calgary Flames know it could be a long summer if they don't bounce back quick against the Blackhawks.

The Flames, set for Game 3 tonight, squandered a two-goal lead in Game 2 after Chicago came from behind to win Game 1 in overtime.

The Flames have never won a playoff series trailing 0-2. Teams holding a two-game lead in NHL playoff series have won 87.3 percent of them in league history.

Calgary is facing the youngest team in the NHL and they need their older and more experienced players to lead them if they have any shot at a comeback.

For Chicago, winning both games in Calgary isn’t beyond the realm of possibility considering that they swept the Flames in four regular-season meetings and are 5-0 in the last five meetings in Calgary.
This is the only meeting between the Original Six clubs this season. Montreal won 4-3 in overtime at home over the Blackhawks on Jan. 8, 2008 in the teams' most recent meeting. The Canadiens have won six of the last eight in the series and three in a row at home.

Carey Price, who has never faced the Blackhawks, is 22-14-9 with a 2.81 GAA this season.
