If you are a betting backer of one of the six NFL teams still without a win through four weeks, you probably are tired of losing your money on that team. And you certainly can forget about the playoffs if your club is 0-4, as just one team since 1990 that started with four losses has made it to the postseason (the 1992 Chargers).

The last winless NFL team will be…?
Get your NFL team props at Bodog.

So the folks at Bodog Sportsbook have come up with a good NFL prop on which you maybe can make some of your money back. You can wager on the site on which of those six teams will be the last to get a victory this year.

Let's take a look at the top bottom six:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+225): That the Bucs are "favored" to win this prop is a tad surprising to me. Maybe it shouldn't be. Tampa Bay has no direction at quarterback, with Josh Johnson basically holding the job until 2009 first-round pick Josh Freeman is ready. The Bucs aren't very good on offense (28th in points per game) or defense (25th in points allowed). They may not be favored in a game the rest of the season, and they certainly won't win this week at Philly. But Week 6 against Carolina is a possibility even though Tampa Bay has won just one of its past six at home against the Panthers. Other than that Week 9 off a bye against Green Bay seems a shot for Tampa Bay. I don't think the Bucs make it to Week 10 without a loss.

St. Louis Rams (+250): That St. Louis isn't the favorite to be the last winless team definitely is a surprise. It has dropped an NFL-high 14 games and managed just 24 points this year to go with the worst point differential in the league at minus-84. Unlike the Bucs, Browns or Chiefs on this list, the Rams do have an elite running back in Steven Jackson. But the Rams' QB situation might be the worst in the league, because they don't even have a future guy in place and Marc Bulger just isn't cutting it when healthy. The game everyone is pointing to for this team is Week 8 at Detroit, with the loser quite possibly getting the No. 1 pick in the draft. I say the smart money among the winless teams should go on St. Louis.

Cleveland Browns (+250): The Browns just aren't this bad. And they might get better by trading Braylon Edwards, who had become a major distraction, headache and pass-dropping nightmare. Cleveland has a winnable game this week at Buffalo, then another one in Week 7 at home against the Packers.

Kansas City Chiefs (+400): This is a young team with a lot of talent that simply needs to learn how to win – something the Chiefs have done only twice since Week 8 of the 2007 season. Matt Cassel clearly isn't comfortable in the offense yet, and the Chiefs have dropped eight in a row at home. But don't count out an upset this week against Dallas. If not, Week 9 or 10, at Jacksonville and at Oakland, respectively, could be the Chiefs' first win.

Tennessee Titans (+1200): Everything that could go wrong has for the Titans. Just a year ago they led the NFL in wins; now they actually have lost six in a row counting last year's playoffs. Kerry Collins has six picks already after having seven all last year. The defense really misses Albert Haynesworth, ranking 31st against the pass and allowing 27 points a game after giving up just 16 per last year. But there's way too much veteran pride for this to continue much longer – look for an upset of the Colts this week.

Carolina Panthers (+1600): The Panthers seem very solid at every position but the most important one: quarterback. They also have something over these other teams don't, and that's three losses instead of four. Last week's bye came at just the right time for Carolina and QB Jake Delhomme. They will beat the Redskins this week or the Bucs next, so the oddsmakers were wise to list the Panthers as the longest shots.

To summarize, the Rams are probably the most likely team to win this prop, but the Chiefs might provide the best value. K.C. does have one benefit at home, however, that St. Louis won't soon: the elements could help the Chiefs slow down and upset a better team, while the Rams play indoors.

The Cleveland Browns will host the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night. Bodog is liking the odds for a very competitive game, listing it as a pick 'em.

The Titans come into the game with 2-1 record in the preseason, while the Browns stand at an even 1-1 and come off a resounding win over the Detroit Lions last week.

The Titans suffered their first loss of the preseason last week to the Dallas Cowboys.

Eric Mangini probably won't name his starter for the Titans game until an hour before kickoff, but if he continues his current rotation, Brady Quinn will get the nod. That also would give him and Derek Anderson a start at home and on the road.

If Quinn starts, it doesn't mean he's won the starting job.

In the fourth and final preseason game, Sept. 3 in Chicago, the starters play only about a series, making the Titans game all the more crucial.

The Detroit Lions are at Cleveland to take on the Browns on Saturday and there is not much doubt the Browns will be favored in this one.

On paper this game isn’t nearly as flashy as some of the other Week 2 matchups, but football fans will get a look at two of the NFL’s top prospects behind center. Lions rookie QB Matthew Stafford will be adjusting to life in the pros, while Browns third-year QB Brady Quinn will be trying to solidify his role as the team’s starter.

This is also a matchup between last year’s best preseason squad (Detroit 4-0) and the worst (Cleveland 0-4). Now do you see why preseason does not mean much in terms of how the regular season plays out?

With those records in mind, the Lions might be better off saving the winning efforts for when it matters.

The Cleveland Browns will start the preseason on the road against the Green Bay Packers.

Bodog is favoring the home-team Packers by 3 points as both teams get ready to play their first games of the 2009 NFL preseason schedule.

This will be Browns head coach Eric Mangini’s first game with his new club after coaching the New York Jets the previous few seasons and he’ll have some decisions to make in regards to his starting quarterback.

Derek Anderson struggled quite a bit last season, and with former first-round draft pick Brady Quinn waiting in the wings there should be a lively quarterback battle in the preseason.

Green Bay’s QB situation will require much less work as Aaron Rodgers is the team’s starter.

Cleveland has a reason to play hard for their new coach and a quarterback battle, which generally makes for winning ball in the preseason.

Remember two seasons ago how the Browns were an up-and-coming team that just missed the playoffs? Now this club seems in need of a major overhaul in the wake of last season’s 4-12 record, which included a season-ending six-game losing streak. New coach Eric Mangini has begun the purge.

A weak receiving corps would appear to be weaker this year, with rookie Brian Robiskie probably having to start in Week 1. Projected 2008 No. 2 WR Donte Stallworth, who was a major disappointment last year the few times he played, probably will be suspended for the season by Roger Goodell following that auto incident in Miami that killed a man. Tight end Kellen Winslow was jettisoned to Tampa Bay, but he took a major step back last year as well when he was healthy. Former Pro Bowl WR Braylon Edwards is still around, but he was shopped during the offseason after having 25 fewer catches than in 2007 and a touchdown drop from 16 to 3. He also led the NFL in dropped passes.

Who will be throwing Edwards the ball this year? That question supposedly won’t be answered until well into training camp, although most believe that Brady Quinn will beat out Derek Anderson. Running back Jamal Lewis seems on the way down, but at least the offensive line should be a strength.

The defense ranked 26th in the league last year and probably will be in that range again. It was especially bad against the ground game, which is never a good thing in a division with Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

Here is the Browns’ 2009 schedule, and we’ll break it down after:

Sept. 13 vs. Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m.

Sept. 20 at Denver Broncos, 4:15 p.m.

Sept. 27 at Baltimore Ravens, 1 p.m.

Oct. 4 vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m.

Oct. 11 at Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m.

Oct. 18 at Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m.

Oct. 25 vs. Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m.

Nov. 1 at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m.

Week 9: Bye

Nov. 16 vs. Baltimore Ravens, 8:30 p.m.

Nov. 22 at Detroit Lions, 1 p.m.

Nov. 29 at Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m.

Dec. 6 vs. San Diego Chargers, 4:05 p.m.

Dec. 10 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:20 p.m.

Dec. 20 at Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m.

Dec. 27 vs. Oakland Raiders, 1 p.m.

Jan. 3 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 25th (opponents combined to go 114-140-2, .449, in 2008)

Projected record: 4-12

Bodog over/under total: 7

Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 80/1

I don’t see how this team can approach Bodog’s win total of seven, in all honesty. Obviously injuries played a big role in last year’s terrible season, but unless Quinn is Joe Montana this club is at least a year from even sniffing .500.

The NFL seems to love Cleveland, as the Browns open at home for the 11th straight year. However, I see the Browns losing their first six games, a nice bookend to last season’s season-ending six-game slide. Cleveland is 1-9 in its past 10 season openers, so forget a Vikings upset, and surely won’t be favored in any game but that Oct. 4 matchup against the Bengals. However, Cincy has won four of the past six in Cleveland.

I think the Browns can take out the Packers for that first win on Oct. 25 but won’t see victory again until playing at Detroit a few weeks later. Then it looks like four more losses in row – hey, the Chiefs have to beat someone. Cleveland will finish 2009 with back-to-back home wins against warm-weather teams Oakland and Jacksonville. That will give the Browns three home wins this year, which at least is an improvement over last year’s 1-7 record.

At least the Browns can see if Quinn is the future this year, assuming he stays healthy, and possibly get something of value for Anderson in an offseason trade.

New Cleveland Browns coach Eric Mangini said this week that he isn't planning to name a winner of the starting quarterback competition between Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson until late in the preseason.

I have one response to that: Why?

If you believe the media, Mangini isn't thrilled with either Anderson, who has 27 career NFL starts, or Quinn, who has started three games. In fact, the Browns reportedly were in the Jay Cutler sweepstakes before the Bears won that. And Quinn was in rumored trades with the Jets.

Everything would seem to point to Quinn to win the job, however. He was great in his NFL debut against the Broncos in Week 10 last season but then got progressively worse before getting injured. Still, this team did give up a first-round pick for the former Notre Dame star, and most Browns fans certainly want him as the starter.

Anderson, meanwhile, got a huge contract after an excellent 2007 season that ended with a Pro Bowl spot. I should say excellent 80 percent of the '07 season, as Anderson struggled in that season's final three games as Cleveland missed the playoffs. Those struggles continued in 2008, with Anderson looking good for only two games, in Week 6 against the Giants and Week 8 against the Jags – not coincidentally, two of the Browns' four wins last season – before being benched and later injured himself.

Quinn has a reputation as a good leader and intelligent signal-caller, while Anderson has the bigger arm. Mangini says he will pick the guy "who can most effectively run the offense."

At least Mangini said that once he names a starter that he planned on sticking with him. He seems true to his word on that, as in Mangini's three seasons with the Jets, his No. 1 quarterback started every game except for in 2007 when Kellen Clemens replaced Chad Pennington when the Jets were 1-7. Of course, Brett Favre was Mangini's QB for one of those years, and it's not like he comes out of the game.

Look for Quinn to win the job, as the Browns have to find out what they have in him and it's not like they are Super Bowl contenders this season (70/1 on Bodog at time of publishing). But in giving Anderson equal reps through the preseason, they also increase his potential trade value.

There’s more than just pride on the line when the Cleveland Browns (4-11 SU, 6-8-1 ATS) face the Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4 SU, 8-7 ATS) Sunday at Heinz Field. People’s jobs are on the line.

The Steelers (-10.5 favorites on Sunday) are fine; they’ll be the No. 2 playoff seed in the AFC, and they only need to recuperate after getting beaten up by the Tennessee Titans last week. The Browns, on the other hand, are in disarray. Both GM Phil Savage and coach Romeo Crennel could be out the door this offseason – along with several of their players.

Then there’s Bruce Gradkowski. The Associated Press reported on Wednesday that Gradkowski was “likely” to start in place of QB Ken Dorsey (concussion, rib). This is a golden opportunity for the former Toledo Rocket and Tampa Bay Buccaneer to make an impression and improve his chances at gainful employment in 2009.

In a matchup of struggling teams featuring top receivers, T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Cincinnati Bengals look to win two straight and tie their season series with Braylon Edwards and the Cleveland Browns when the teams meet Sunday.

The 3-point underdog Bengals have a chance to win two in a row for the first time since taking their final two games last season after upsetting Washington 20-13 last Sunday.

Edwards has been plagued by drops all season, leading the NFL with 16, but he had five catches for 102 yards in Cleveland's 30-10 loss to Philadelphia on Monday night. The Browns have 10 losses one year after they won 10 games behind a potent offense.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was intercepted three times in Cincinnati's 20-12 loss to Cleveland on Sept. 28.

The under is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Cleveland, while the under is 7-1 in the Bengals’ last eight games in December.

The Browns’ third-string quarterback managed to stay upright for the most part last week against Tennessee, but Dorsey could only manage 150 yards passing and a pick in a 28-9 loss. The Titans were favored by 14 points at home.

Dorsey’s second assignment: Go into Philadelphia and face the fearsome Eagles defense at the Linc. Philadelphia is fourth in the NFL with just 5.3 yards allowed per pass attempt, third in the league in sacks with 39, and favored by 14.5 points on Monday Night Football. And it wouldn’t be an MNF game without live betting.

The total for this matchup is 39, which hints at an expected final score in the 27-12 neighborhood. The Browns (4-9 SU, 6-6 ATS) have only given up 21.2 points per game this year; there’s a 65 percent chance of rain Monday night.

The whole franchise is falling apart; both Brady Quinn (broken finger) and Derek Anderson (knee) are on the shelf, leaving Ken Dorsey as the starter for Sunday’s tilt with the Tennessee Titans (11-1 SU, 10-2 ATS).

Cleveland lost Anderson and TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) in last week’s crushing 10-7 defeat at the hands of Indianapolis, who scored the only TD of the game on defense in the fourth quarter. Cleveland escaped with a push to sit at 4-8 SU and 6-5-1 ATS on the season – but a lousy 1-3-1 ATS over the past five games.

The Titans, meanwhile, rebounded from their Week 13 loss to the Jets with a resounding 47-10 triumph over Detroit (+11). Tennessee’s No. 2-ranked pass defense will make Dorsey’s job that much more difficult. Cleveland coach Romeo Crennel could get his walking papers after Sunday’s encounter.
