In what is being called the making of yet another dynamic duo — think Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson and Kareem Addul-Jabbar — Shaquille O'Neal has reportedly been traded to the Cleveland Caveliers, where he'll partner up with MVP LeBron James. (Sources close to the deal confirmed this with the Associated Press.)

Will Shaq and LeBron finally give the Cavaliers the championship they so desperately want?

In his first season with the Phoenix Suns, Shaquille O'Neal did nothing to help his team get past the first round of the playoffs. In his second season with Phoenix, the Suns — with stars Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and Grant Hill — didn't even make the playoffs.

So what can O'Neal possibly be expected to achieve as a Cleveland Cavalier? Well, maybe the difference here is LeBron James.

Now might be a great time to throw down a little dough on those NBA Basketball Futures…

The Cleveland Cavaliers are heading back to Florida. LeBron James, showing off every dimension of his unstoppable game, had 37 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, and Mo Williams added 24 points in a 112-102 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 5 on Thursday night.

The Magic will once again try and close out the series in Game 6 on Saturday night.

Orlando overcame a 22-point deficit on Thursday but missed their first opportunity to finish off the Cavaliers, who are trying to become just the ninth team since 1947 to rally and win a series after being down 3-1. Orlando has two more tries to reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1995.

The Cavs of course feel confident that if they can force Game 7 they will be in the driver's seat. Last night's win improved their home record to 44-3 this season. Orlando moved within one win of ending its 14-year Finals drought on Tuesday night as Dwight Howard scored 27 points in a 116-114 win over the Cavaliers to take a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Orlando heads into Game 5 with no fear of the road. They finished off the Boston Celtics on the road in a Game 7 in the previous round and have a chance to end Cleveland's dream season at the court of King James.

The odds are stacked against the 7.5-point favored Cavaliers.

In the NBA's 62-year postseason history, 190 teams have taken a 3-1 lead in a series and 182 of them have won. More daunting for the Cavaliers is that the Magic have won 10 of the past 14 meetings between the teams.
The Cleveland Cavaliers entered the NBA postseason as one of the favorites to win it all. So far the Cavs, winners of 66 regular-season games and their first eight straight in the playoffs, certainly haven't looked superior to the Orlando Magic.

They can't stop Dwight Howard inside. They can't contain Orlando's outside shooters. They're not giving LeBron James enough support. And they trail 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Orlando is relishing the underdog role in its first conference finals appearance since 1995. They won 99-89 on Sunday night in Game 3, which included a flagrant foul on Anthony Johnson for his elbow to Mo Williams' face in the second quarter. James has been doing his part.

The league's MVP is averaging 41.7 points in the series. But there have been extended periods when it's LeBron and only LeBron vs. the Magic. Can the 1.5-point underdog Cavs tie up the series?
They exposed Cleveland's depth, shredded its defense, snatched home-court advantage, and put the NBA's top-seeded team in an unfamiliar position.

The 9-point favored Cavs will be desperate for a win heading into Game 2 tonight. Despite the win, the Magic, who upset the defending champion Boston Celtics in the conference semis, feel as if they're not being given a chance to win this series and advance to the finals for the first time since 1995.

Orlando shot 59 percent after halftime, went 7-of-13 on 3s, and outscored the Cavs 59-43.

Now 9-3 in their last 12 games against Cleveland, the Magic survived an amazing performance by LeBron James to hand the Cavs their first loss in nine postseason games. Can the Cavs get back on track tonight?

After sitting around for the second time in these playoffs, the series-sweeping Cleveland Cavaliers, who broomed Detroit and Atlanta into early summer vacations, are expecting a much stiffer challenge from the Orlando Magic.

Orlando won both of their matchups at home against Cleveland during the regular season, including a 116-87 thrashing on April 3.

Cleveland has lost just once since that mauling by the Magic, and that setback came in overtime in the April 15 season finale against Philadelphia.

For the opener tonight, Stan Van Gundy will return rookie guard Courtney Lee to the starting lineup, replacing J.J. Redick.

The Magic, averaging 96.1 points in the postseason, shot 54 percent in the April 3 win over Cleveland, making 13 of 27 three-pointers.

In three games against Orlando this year, LeBron James averaged 30.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 7.0 assists.

The Cavs enter tonight's matchup as 9-point home favorites. Get your NBA Playoffs odds in the Bodog Sportsbook.

With one of his best performances ever, LeBron James has carried the Cavaliers to the brink of another playoff sweep. The Atlanta Hawks sure know what they're up against, having watched their most inspired showing of the series turned into just another loss by the MVP's 47 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists.

James made 15 of 25 shots, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range. He drew one foul after another, going 12 of 16 at the free-throw line. He also led all rebounders with 12, guiding the Cavaliers to a mammoth 46-23 edge on the boards.

The Cavaliers have yet to be seriously challenged in this postseason, setting an NBA record with seven straight double-digit victories.

LeBron James scored 27 points, ending the first and second quarters with last-second baskets, and Mo Williams added 15 points as the untested Cavaliers overpowered the Atlanta Hawks 105-85 on Thursday night to open a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference semifinal.

Now a perfect 6-0 (6-0 ATS) in the postseason, the Cavaliers tied a league record by winning their sixth consecutive playoff game by double digits.

If that wasn’t bad enough for the Hawks, Joe Johnson rolled his right ankle in the third quarter and did not return.

X-rays were negative, but Johnson wore a walking boot as he went to the bus before heading home for Game 3 on Saturday.
It was Cleveland's fifth straight double-digit win in the NBA playoffs.

The Cavaliers are allowing just 76.8 points per game, more than 11 fewer than the next team still alive in the postseason.

The Cavs were ranked No. 1 in points allowed during the season and were the only team to hold opponents to fewer than 92 per game. They also finished second in defensive field-goal percentage and first in defensive 3-point percentage.

Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are listed at -117.33 to win it all, just ahead of LeBron James and the Cavaliers (+116.67).

The Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics look like the only two teams that could mess up a Cavs-Lakers final. Denver is pegged as at +1600 to win it all, while the Celtics minus Kevin Garnett fall in at +1800.

Orlando and Houston won't go quietly but they are not likely to win the title. Both are listed at +2000.
The Mavs are at +2400 to win, but that is probably inflated due to their dumping of the Spurs.

Finally, the team with the biggest payday has to be the Atlanta Hawks at +7500. For the best in NBA playoff odds, head to the Bodog Sportsbook.
