The Big 12 title is on the line in Lincoln when Kansas State and Nebraska meet, with the winner likely to get crushed by Texas on Dec. 5. The Huskers are 17-point favorites for Saturday's game on Bodog's college football odds.

In a way, this game is more important to K-State than Nebraska (7-3), which is bowl eligible. The Wildcats won't qualify for a bowl if they lose because it would drop them to 6-6 and two of their wins are against I-AA teams – you can only count one. KSU has been terrible in true road games, going 0-4 (1-3 ATS). Of course, the Huskers have dropped two of their past three at home.

KSU is one-dimensional on offense and runs the ball two of every three plays, mainly with Daniel Thomas, who averages a Big 12-leading 21 carries and 106 yards per game along with 11 rush TDs. K-State is rushing for 183.6 yards a game, third in the conference. Nebraska has allowed only six rushing touchdowns this season and is allowing 94.9 yards on the ground to rank 11th in the country. The Wildcats can't pass the ball (105th in the nation) and Nebraska is No. 3 in the country in pass efficiency defense, so if KSU can’t run it, this one won’t be close – last year's wasn't (56-28 Nebraska).

The Nebraska offense had been struggling (only one TD in each of the past four games) but had a breakout game last week against Kansas, rushing for 214 yards and QB Zac Lee throwing for 196.

When deciding your college football bet on this game, know that the Huskers have won four straight against KSU overall and have lost to the Wildcats just once in Lincoln since 1968. Barring multiple Nebraska turnovers, this should be a blowout.

Last Nov. 19, Central Michigan and Ball State met as the only two unbeaten teams in the MAC, with the Cardinals No. 17 in the country and without a loss overall. It was one of the most anticipated MAC games in years. BSU won that one and went on to the MAC title game, but the Cards have sunk this year to a 1-9 record (1-4 ATS at home) and are playing out the string. CMU against leads the MAC West and is 8-2 overall, with those two losses at BCS schools Arizona and Boston College. So, yes, Wednesday's game should be lopsided, and the Chippewas are -14.5 on Bodog’s college football odds.

CMU looked to be in a similar situation last Wednesday, and the Chips easily covered against Toledo. In that 56-28 victory, Chippewas star QB Dan LeFevour was 29-of-36 passing for 341 yards and two touchdowns. He also had four rushing TDs – giving him a team-leading 567 rush yards and 13 rushing scores on the year. He has now scored six TDs in a game six times in his stellar career, including three occasions in 2009. LeFevour and Co. love playing on ESPN, going 13-5 on the network since 2007.

There are signs this could be a closer game than the spread if you are thinking of betting the Cardinals on Bodog’s college football odds. Ball State has lost six games by seven points or fewer and has dropped the past two games against MAC contenders Ohio and Northern Illinois by a total of nine points. BSU has a very good stable of running backs, led by MiQuale Lewis, who can help keep LeFevour off the field.

In addition, Central Michigan could be looking ahead to next week’s matchup with Northern Illinois that will decide the MAC West champion — if both win this week.

The Stanford Cardinal knocked off one kingpin of the Pac-10 last week in Oregon, but winning at Southern Cal is a whole different animal, and the Trojans are 10.5-point favorites on Bodog's college football odds.

USC simply doesn't lose November games under Pete Caroll: it is 28-0 all-time. And the Trojans have won 47 of their past 48 home games. That one loss, however, came to Stanford in 2007 in one of college football's biggest upsets ever.

Stanford is 2-0 against ranked teams this year but just 1-3 on the road, but those three losses have been just by a combined 22 points. The Cardinal will try to play ball control with RB Toby Gerhart, who ran for a school-record 223 yards last week against the Ducks. While USC freshman QB Matt Barkley gets all the press, it's Stanford freshman Andrew Luck who leads the Pac-10 in passing efficiency.

There are three key USC injury updates to know about before placing those college football bets at Bodog: top Trojans receiver Damian Williams won't play because of an ankle injury. He leads USC with 43 receptions (more than double any other Trojan) and four touchdowns and also has returned two punts for scores. However, tight end Anthony McCoy, Barkley's third-down security blanket and the third-leading receiver on the team, will return after missing two games with an injury. Also back is fullback Stanley Havili after he missed the past two games. USC's offense needs some help, as it has been outgained in the past three games and has scored just 10 points in the last six quarters. Southern Cal is lousy on third downs, converting just 32 percent of them to rank 106th in the nation.

Go ahead and call Saturday's Utah-TCU game the $17 million matchup, because that's basically what the Mountain West stands to lose should the Utes upset the Frogs and knock them from a BCS bowl. However, Texas Christian is a 20-point favorite on Bodog's college football odds.

Certainly history indicates that Utah could win here, as it holds a 5-1 all-time edge in the series and has won the past three. Last year's 13-10 Utes victory was a big deal because TCU is now 60-1 under coach Gary Patterson when holding an opponent to 17 points or less – that one loss obviously being last year. And while TCU has a 12-game home winning streak, the last team to win in Fort Worth was Utah back in 2007.

Since the start of last season, Utah is 10-1 on the road. In those games, the Utes have allowed an average of 15 points and more than 23 points just once. And here’s a crazy stat: The Utes are 7-0 all-time in games in which they and the opponent are ranked. So you may want to take the 20 points on Bodog's college football odds.

However, TCU has been nothing short of dominant of late. It has outscored its past four opponents 178-25, allowing just two TDs. TCU is allowing just 203.7 yards per game in four home games this season and just 50.5 yards per game rushing (1.9 per carry). That stellar defense should befuddle Utah freshman QB Jordan Wynn, who makes just his second start.

TCU's running game could have success – the Frogs are No. 6 in the nation in rushing at 242 yards per game, while Utah has allowed more than 200 yards rushing in five games this season.

Let's get the quarterback news out of the way first for Friday's night's Big East game. For WVU, starter Jarrett Brown will be a go after leaving last week's win over Louisville with an ankle injury. And for Cincinnati, red-hot Zach Collaros will start ahead of Tony Pike, who isn't quite 100 percent recovered from an arm injury but will see some snaps. Cincinnati is a 9-point favorite on Bodog's college football odds.

Collaros, a sophomore, just put up a Big East record 555 total yards last week against UConn. He has completed 70 of 89 passes for 1,100 yards with eight touchdowns (one pick) and rushed for 281 yards and four TDs in about 14 quarters since Pike went down. Cincy's offense is third in the country in yards per game.

The WVU offense is struggling behind Brown, a senior. He suffered a concussion in the Mountaineers' sixth game and hasn't really been the same since. In the three starts following, his completion percentage is down 11 points per game and his passing yardage down about 50 per game before the Marshall game. Brown has two touchdowns and three interceptions in his past three games. WVU was averaging 450 yards and 33.4 points during the first five games of the season (scoring at least 30 in every game), but in the past four has averaged only 324 yards and 22 points (scoring 30 in none).

Another key injury to know about before deciding on the college football odds in this one is that WVU star RB Noel Devine will play after also injuring an ankle last week. Devine had five 100-plus yard games in the first seven but has totaled just 98 yards in the past two games. He hasn’t fared well in two career games vs. Cincinnati.

West Virginia leads the all-time series 14-2-1 but the teams have split the past two years.

If you are a fan of or regular bettor on Mid-American Conference football, this week is heaven for you: There is a at least one nationally televised MAC game on each weeknight beginning Tuesday with Ohio at Buffalo, with the Bulls -2.5 on Bodog's college football odds.

Buffalo (3-6) has dropped two games in a row overall and hasn't covered in its past two at home – it must win out to get bowl eligible. Ohio (6-3) has won four of five and is 3-0 in conference road games but hasn't covered in its past two games overall and has dropped three of the past four in Buffalo.

The Bulls will be a bit shorthanded for the game. Starting quarterback Zach Maynard will sit for the first quarter because of a violation of team rules; redshirt freshman Jerry Davis will start at quarterback and has attempted only 10 passes in mop-up duty this year. Meanwhile, starting running back Ike Nduka, the team's leading rusher with 598 yards on 6.2 yards per carry, and cornerback Joe Petit both have been ruled out due to injury. True freshman Jeffvon Gill, who ran for 172 yards last week against Bowling Green, will earn his first start at tailback.

Ohio's defense is tops in the nation in turnovers forced with 27 and in fumbles recovered (14). Don't overlook this stat when pondering the college football odds on this one: The Bobcats are fourth in the country in kicks/punts blocked, and Buffalo had two punts blocked in its last game – Bulls coach Turner Gill has switched punters in the wake of that.

Saturday's game at Stanford could be dangerous for red-hot Oregon, as the Ducks have been told by national "experts" all week how good they are after crushing USC in one of the program's biggest wins to date. And in fact the Cardinal, who come in off a bye week, are just 7-point underdogs on Bodog's college football odds.

Stanford, at 5-3 off to its best eight-game start since 2001, is unbeaten at home this season (4-0 ATS), averaging just over 33 points a game in its four wins – only one opponent has stayed within single digits of the Cardinal. Stanford has two excellent offensive players in QB Andrew Luck, whom the Ducks are saying will be the best quarterback they will face this season, and running back Toby Gerhart. The freshman Luck leads the Pac-10 in pass efficiency and has the most rushing yards by a Cardinal QB since 1971. And Gerhart is seventh nationally in rushing at 124.2 yards per game.

Oregon has owned this series, however, winning seven in a row against Stanford, the Ducks' longest current win streak against any Pac-10 foe. The Duck offense just put up 613 total yards (391 rushing) on Southern Cal, with QB Jeremiah Masoli vaulting himself into the Heisman race with 386 yards of total offense. Oregon has scored at least 42 points in the four Pac-10 games started by Masoli (he missed one injured). RB LaMichael James is averaging 137.6 yards rushing per game (7.4 yards per carry) in Pac-10 play.

Before deciding which way to go with the college football odds on this one, decide if Stanford can control the tempo. The Cardinal are a ball-control team and will try to chew up the clock with long drives and by pounding away with Gerhart, while Oregon (6-0 ATS in its past six) plays at a fast pace.

No rivalry in college football had been more one-sided than Navy-Notre Dame, but the Midshipmen have given the Irish trouble the past two seasons, upsetting Notre Dame in 2007 to end a 43-game losing streak in the series and then nearly rallying in the final minutes to victory last year. The Irish are -12½ this time around on Bodog's college football odds.

A key offensive player for each side returns from injury this week. For Navy, QB Ricky Dobbs is back after missing most of the past two games. He is the team's second-leading rusher with 595 yards – the Middies don’t throw much — and leads the nation with 16 rushing touchdowns. For Notre Dame, which has covered the spread just twice this season, receiver Michael Floyd will play for the first time since breaking his collarbone in the Irish's third game. Floyd was the best receiver in the country for the first few games of the season, with 13 catches for 358 yards (27.5 yards per catch) and five touchdowns in just 10 quarters. However, Irish leading rusher Armando Allen is expected to sit out for a second week in a row. Robert Hughes, who had 131 yards rushing in last week's win over Washington State, would start again.

When looking at the college football odds on this one, whether Navy covers (or pulls the upset) depends on whether it can run the ball and keep the high-powered Notre Dame offense off the field. It's hard to prepare for that Navy triple-option offense and the Midshipmen, who have won the last four NCAA rushing titles, are No. 3 in the nation in rushing — averaging 279.8 yards per game. But the Irish defense has been very good against the run of late. It has allowed just 3.3 yards per carry in the past three games.

Oklahoma and Nebraska is one of the great rivalries in college football, but it hasn't been much of one lately, with the Sooners having won four in a row – including a 62-28 rout last year, the most points OU has ever scored against the Huskers. Yet Oklahoma is just a 5-point favorite on Bodog's college football odds this year.

Under coach Bob Stoops, the Sooners have owned Big 12 North teams, going 35-4. This year's Sooners are just a handful of points from being unbeaten: Their three setbacks were by a total of five points and all came against ranked opponents.

Expect this one to be low scoring, as both defenses rank among the nation's Top 20 in most major defensive categories. OU's unit hasn't allowed a single first-quarter point in the past 10 games. Nebraska's struggling offense has just three touchdowns total in the past three games.

There is one key injury to know about when check the college football odds on this one: Huskers star running back Roy Helu has had a bum shoulder for weeks and has managed just 12 carries in the past two games. Last year against OU, he had 157 yards on the ground. Meanwhile, true freshman QB Cody Green will make his second career start for Nebraska; Green took over for Zac Lee last week against Baylor and was 12-for-21 passing for 128 yards. He is a threat to run and had 43 yards rushing against the Bears. But obviously Baylor's defense isn't in the class of Oklahoma's.

Nebraska hasn't covered the spread since beating Missouri on Oct. 8, while Oklahoma has only covered once in its past five games. The Huskers are on a two-game losing streak at home but haven't lost three straight home games since 1968.

A few weeks ago, this Saturday's Florida State-Clemson matchup looked like a game that had little meaning outside of Bodog bettors and fans of both teams. But now, with FSU having won two games in a row (1-1 ATS) and Clemson three straight (3-0 ATS), Saturday's winner might be the team to beat in the mediocre ACC Atlantic Division — the Tigers are -9½ on Bodog's college football odds.

It should be a matchup of strengths Saturday, as FSU quarterback Christian Ponder — who was limited some in practice this week with bruised ribs but will start — averages an ACC-leading 306.6 passing yards a game while Clemson has the No. 5 pass defense in the country, holding opposing QBs below 50 percent completions with 15 interceptions.

The difference could come in special teams, and that favors Clemson. C.J. Spiller is a great running back but easily the best kick returner in the country. He has three kick returns for TDs this season (and one punt return score) and is just one short of setting the NCAA career mark (it’s currently six). Spiller, the first ACC player in history to go over 6,000 career all-purpose yards, has had at least one play of 60 yards in every game but the Tigers' win over Coastal Carolina last week, but he barely played because of the blowout. It’s rare we will talk about touchbacks here at the Beat, but FSU kicker Dustin Hopkins leads the ACC with 16 touchbacks, and that could be very relevant this week.

When looking at the college football odds on this one, know that FSU leads this series all-time 16-6 and won last year by two touchdowns, but that Clemson has won four of the past six and three in a row in Death Valley. The Tigers are 4-1 ATS at home this season.
