Nobody said the WSOP was easy. Just ask David Pham (aka the Dragon) as he just busted out while holding pocket aces.

The beginning of the end for Pham's WSOP tournament life came when Tony Gagliandi limped in from late position for 200 and Pham, in the small blind, bumped it up to 700. The big blind called as did Galiandi.

The flop came Jh-9c-4d and it was checked around to Gagliandi who min bet 200. Pham check-raised to 1,000. The big blind folded and Gagliandi called.

While the dealer was preparing to drop the turn card, Pham pushed all-in for just over 2,000 more. When Gagliandi saw the 9d on the turn he insta-called to show 4h-4s for a boat of fours full of nines. Pham showed his bullets and was looking for an ace on the river. The 6h came however and the Dragon was sent packing.

That's the WSOP for you. Some say aces are a curse on Day 1. Some people are also pretty stupid. We'll take bullets any day of the week.

David Pham a.k.a The Dragon just knocked out some poor guy in the WSOP $2K prelim event when Pham flopped a set that turned into a boat on the turn. But more interesting than that was the dealer who is kind of hot in a Pam from the Office sort of way.

After the Dragon knocked the guy out there wasn’t much happening on the floor so we proceeded to take pictures of her. She gave us a dirty look, made us feel like terrible creepy bloggers, not unlike those shady misogynists over at Wicked Chops poker, and we ran back to our computer feeling ashamed.

We promise to get back to the real WSOP news in our next post. Apparently there’s some kind WSOP HORSE Championship or something that’s down to just a few tables and stacked with the biggest names in poker. We’ll head over there now and see if there are any hot dealers.

Poker pro David "The Dragon" Pham is hunting his first WPT title at the World Poker Challenge. (Bodog Beat Image)

The televised WPT final table at the World Poker Challenge is now set and poker pro David "The Dragon" Pham will be hunting his first WPT title this evening when play gets underway.

Pham is no stranger to WPT final tables, this will actually be his sixth, but he has yet to seal the deal and take home a trophy. Unfortunately, he will have an uphill battle to reach that goal as the two-time WSOP bracelet winner is sitting in fourth place with 406,000 in chips.

The current chip leader with 1,156,000 in chips is Aussie Millions mugging victim and midnight-snacker Jason Potter, who will try to slay "The Dragon" just like his famous brother, Harry, did in that one movie where he had to get the egg from the dragon, but then the dragon broke free and chased him all over the place on his broom and he almost died but beat the dragon in the end. Poker is safer, but much more real.

Just behind Potter is (Dumbledore, zing!) poker pro Lee Markholt (1,137,000), followed by Bryan Devonshire (674,000). The short-stacks at the final table are Zach Hyman (285,000), who is finally getting some revenge after being a short-stack at life with that last name, and Jeff DeWitt (249,000).

The final table will kick off at 5pm local time today and will end when the $493,815 first-place prize has been awarded to the victor.
