If you start 4-0 in the NFL, as five teams have done this season, you can just about make those postseason arrangements: Since 1990, 84 percent of teams to win their first four games have reached the playoffs.

In concert with Bodog Sportsbook's NFL team props on which team will be the last to win a game, they've also got a football prop bet on which will be the last unbeaten team. There are no 2007 Patriots or 1985 Bears-type teams in here – i.e. no club will probably reach double-digit wins without a loss and threaten the 1972 Dolphins' lone perfect season.

Get your NFL team props at Bodog!
Don't have a Bodog account? Join now. It's FREE.

Let's look at the five teams left without a blemish and their chances to be the last one standing:

Indianapolis Colts (+190): Don't waste your money on the Colts here – sorry, Indy fans, but I think this team is a bit of a fraud. Peyton Manning has been unbelievable as the Colts lead the league in total offense. But that is totally misleading: Indy is tops in passing (by a mile) but 29th in rushing. The defense has been great, holding the past two opponents, Arizona and Seattle, to a combined 73 yards rushing. But the injury to Bob Sanders on defense and to WR Anthony Gonzalez on offense will catch up to this team sooner than later – maybe Monday night at Tennessee. Then Indy is off before playing at the Rams and then a tough three-game home stretch vs. the Niners, Texans and Patriots.

New Orleans Saints (+225): Well, if you for sure want your money to last through this weekend, you will bet on the Saints – they are off this week. But then they host the Giants, are at the Dolphins and host the Falcons, all playoff teams from last year. Drew Brees hasn't thrown a TD the past two weeks or thrown for more than 190 yards. I don't buy that the Saint running game will stay at such a high level for too much longer. New Orleans could have two losses by the first weekend of November, but if it beats the Giants, I will be a believer.

New York Giants (+225): The G-men might as well have a bye this week: They face Oakland. I might have called the Giants the favorite for this prop before Eli Manning started suffering from plantar fasciitis – intense pain in the heel. This is something that really won't go away this season and will just have to be managed. Manning has started 82 games in a row and says he will play against the Raiders, but if he misses a game or any significant time in one, all bets are off on this team. Plus New York might lose as soon as next week at New Orleans.

Minnesota Vikings (+350): You might wonder why Minnesota doesn't have shorter odds, but just take at look at its upcoming schedule: at St. Louis (OK, forget that one), vs. Baltimore, at Pittsburgh, at Green Bay. That probably means Brett Favre and Co. reach 6-0 at best.

Denver Broncos (+1600): By far and away the most surprising team in the league so far, and it's been mostly because of defense, which always was this team's Achilles' heel under Mike Shanahan. Last week, as home dogs against Dallas, the Broncos held the NFL's top-rushing team (albeit without Felix Jones and a limited Marion Barber) to just 74 yards on 25 carries. Elvis Dumervil has become a sack machine, with eight in his past three games. And QB Kyle Orton has done just enough to win, as he often does: the former Bear is 17-2 at home as a starter in his career. But look for Denver to go down to defeat on Sunday at home against the Patriots. Then come games at San Diego, a bye week, at Baltimore and home to Pittsburgh. I wouldn't be shocked if Denver is 4-4 entering Week 10.

So what's the best bet here? Certainly this football team prop is tougher than determining the final winless team. The Colts have the easiest schedule upcoming, so if you think they win at Tennessee, take Indy because of what follows (including a bye week). But if you don't, I would go with who you think wins next week's Giants-Saints game, and New Orleans has the benefit of an off week to prepare (and obviously can't lose this week).

This is a cool prop to get in on, folks: The last unbeaten team will be?

Kyle Orton is hoping to erase an embarrassing debut with the Denver Broncos when they face the Seattle Seahawks Saturday night at Qwest Field.

The Seahawks go into this one listed as 3-point home favorites.

Matt Hasselbeck saw limited action for Seattle in his first game back following an injury-riddled 2008-09 season. Hasselbeck threw just five passes for 27 yards in a 20-14 win at San Diego.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh caught one pass for five yards. The Seahawks found out this week that offensive lineman Walter Jones may miss the entire 2009-10 season after having his second knee surgery in eight months.

Orton tossed three interceptions in his first game with Denver, finishing with 89 yards on 9-of-16 passing in a 17-16 loss to San Francisco.

Chris Simms had a much better night, throwing for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 11-of-17 passing.

Coach Mike Singletary might wait until Thursday before deciding on a starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers' exhibition opener against the 3-point underdog Denver Broncos.

Both Shaun Hill and Alex Smith have been fairly even through the first 10 days of training camp, and both should get plenty of chances against the Broncos on Friday night.

Singletary plans to keep the competition and evaluation process going through the third preseason game Aug. 29 at Dallas, naming a starter soon after that game.

The Broncos experienced quite the offseason, as they’ve seen their longtime coach Mike Shanahan get fired and their starting QB Jay Cutler get traded to the Chicago Bears for Kyle Orton.

Expect a lot of action for the running backs outside of Frank Gore. Gore is not expected to play much in the first game. That means running backs Glen Coffee, Kory Sheets, and Thomas Clayton should get a lot of looks at running back.

WR Brandon Marshall was an unhappy camper Monday when he reported for the first day of the Denver Broncos’ training camp.

Marshall, who missed all offseason workouts while rehabbing from hip surgery and protesting his contract and his medical treatment from the team, participated in the short afternoon workout. But he made it clear afterward that he remains displeased with his situation.

Marshall, who has asked for a contract renegotiation and, barring that, a trade, reported to camp along with the quarterbacks, rookies and other players coming off injuries. The first full squad workout is Friday.

In other camp news, the Broncos have agreed to terms on four-year contracts with three more rookie draft picks.

Signed were second-round safety Darcel McBath, fourth-round safety David Bruton, and sixth-round quarterback Tom Brandstater.

Denver is listed at +5000 to win the Super Bowl this season.

Arguably no team will look as different when this season begins compared to the end of the 2008 campaign than the Denver Broncos.

But then again, maybe no team deserved an overhaul more than the Broncos, who seemed to have the AFC West locked up but then went on a three-game season-ending losing streak, capped by a 52-21 stinker at San Diego that gave the Chargers the division.

Once Mike Shanahan was let go, that seemed to signal the end for franchise QB Jay Cutler as well. New coach Josh McDaniels, former the Patriots offensive coordinator, wanted Matt Cassel but couldn't land him, and then he and Cutler never got on the same page. Denver got plenty in return for Cutler, including two first-round picks and Kyle Orton, but now the team is again looking for someone who can man the position long term. Is Orton that guy? Doubtful, but he already has been named the starter over Chris Simms.

Denver was rumored to be in the mix to trade up for Mark Sanchez in the draft but instead surprised everyone by taking Georgia RB Knowshon Moreno. He will battle former Eagle Correll Buckhalter as the featured back this fall. The rest of the skill position players should be the same as last year, but remember that WR Brandon Marshall might face a suspension this year again.

On defense, things could be ugly again. Denver ranked 29th in the league in overall defense (30th in scoring defense) last year and didn't address that side of the ball a ton. Sure, the Broncos took LB Robert Ayers with their second first-round pick and added Eagles safety Brian Dawkins, but that’s nowhere enough – especially with Champ Bailey beginning to show his age.

Here is the Broncos' 2009 schedule, and we’ll break it down after:
Sept. 13 at Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m.
Sept. 20 vs. Cleveland Browns, 4:15 p.m.
Sept. 27 at Oakland Raiders, 4:15 p.m.
Oct. 4 vs. Dallas Cowboys, 4:15 p.m.
Oct. 11 vs. New England Patriots, 4:15 p.m.
Oct. 19 at San Diego Chargers, 8:30 p.m.
Week 7: Bye
Nov. 1 at Baltimore Ravens, 1 p.m.
Nov. 9 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:30 p.m.
Nov. 15 at Washington Redskins, 1 p.m.
Nov. 22 vs. San Diego Chargers, 4:15 p.m.
Nov. 26 vs. New York Giants, 8:20 p.m.
Dec. 6 at Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m.
Dec. 13 at Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m.
Dec. 20 vs. Oakland Raiders, 4:05 p.m.
Dec. 27 at Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m.
Jan. 3 vs. Kansas City Chiefs, 4:15 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 19th (opponents combined to go 122-132-2, .480, in 2008)
Projected record: 4-12
Bodog over/under total: 7
Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 50/1

Get all your NFL football futures at Bodog!

I guess I am a glass half-empty guy predicting four wins when Bodog's over/under is at seven. Maybe I'm off by one or even two wins, but there's no way this club wins seven games. At least Denver gets to continue one streak: The Broncos' two Monday Night Football appearances mark the 18th year in a row the club will make at least one appearance on MNF, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.

Denver should start the year 2-2, losing both road games but holding serve at home – yes, even pulling an upset of the Cowboys. For what it's worth, Denver has won three in a row vs. Dallas in the regular season. And I know Denver usually beats Oakland on the road (since 1995, the Broncos are 10-4 in road games against the Raiders) but not this year. Then comes what should be a fun matchup with McDaniels facing his former team. Obviously that's a Patriot win.

After New England, I say forget about a Denver chance at victory until Dec. 6 at Kansas City. In that six-game stretch prior to the Chiefs, in which Denver likely will be an underdog in each, the Broncos face five games against potential Super Bowl teams and one at Washington, which is never an easy place to play.

Then there is that game at Arrowhead Stadium, where the Broncos have lost eight of their last 10. Make it nine of 11. Denver will be a big underdog at Indy and will fall to an ugly 2-11. But look for the Broncos to win their final two home games against division foes sandwiched around a loss at Philly (unless the Eagles have nothing to play for then).

That's 4-12, meaning Denver will have missed the playoffs four consecutive years. Think those Broncos fans might have a few "Bring Bay Jay" chants this year?

A few weeks ago here on Bodog Beat, I wrote that Plaxico Burress would definitely improve the Chicago Bears' futures odds. And that's still true. The only other teams in the running for Plax then and now seem to be the Jets and Bucs, and we'll see how that plays out.

But today let's talk about Denver's Brandon Marshall, who has demanded a trade from Denver because he wants a new deal. Yes, he is another receiver with plenty of legal troubles but at least is eligible to play this year — which we still don’t know about Burress.

Frankly, Marshall would be a better addition to any team than would Plax. The stats aren't even close. Marshall has exceeded 100 catches and 1,250 yards receiving in each of the past two seasons. Burress has had one season over 1,250 yards and has a career-high of 78 catches. In fairness, Burress never played in a passing offense like Marshall has in Denver. But Marshall is also seven years younger.

So if Denver caves to his demands, and we know from Jay Cutler that they may do just that, where would Marshall best fit?

Obviously the first answer would be the Bears, and Cutler has lobbied for his former teammate. But there's almost no way that happens – the Broncos aren't going to supply the Bears with another star, and Chicago already has given Denver its 2010 first-rounder.

The best answer, if a deal happens, is in Baltimore. The Ravens, who are 20/1 odds to win the AFC this season at Bodog, already have a Super Bowl-caliber defense. What they don't have is a deep threat and red zone receiver for Joe Flacco. Mark Clayton and Derrick Mason are solid but nothing spectacular. Adding Marshall would open up a running game that ranked fourth in the NFL last year as it was.

The Ravens have admitted they have interest. As they should, considering the team finished 27th in receiving last year, averaging just 192.8 yards per game.

Will Marshall get traded? One would think the Broncos wouldn't give in to another player. But if the Ravens can get him, they immediately become a threat to dethrone the Steelers.

After Denver failed to clinch the AFC West the last two weeks the Broncos and Chargers face off in the final week of the season with the winner getting the AFC West crown, and the loser watching the postseason from home.

Last time Denver and San Diego met up in Week 2 the Broncos caught a lucky break and won 39-38 thanks to referee Ed Hochuli. It was Hochuli’s botched call on a Jay Cutler fumble that gave the Broncos the ability to score a late fourth quarter touchdown, and allowed Mike Shanahan to make a courageous call to go for two and the win. The Broncos capitalized on the two-point conversion and stole the victory.

San Diego heads into this must-win game on a three-game winning streak, and maybe they’ve finally got their offense in gear for good after scoring 97 points in those three wins. The Chargers are an 8.5-point favorite and despite their lackluster straight-up record this season they’re still 9-5-1 ATS.
Denver can wrap up the division with a win over Buffalo, or if San Diego loses to Tampa Bay. If the Broncos lose and the Chargers win, those teams will meet in San Diego for the AFC West championship in the regular-season finale.

Winning the division is key because they will get at least one playoff game at home where they are 12-3 all-time in playoff games.

The Broncos have won five straight against the Bills since 1994 and have averaged 175.4 yards per game on the ground during that run.

The Bills are second in the AFC with 29 turnovers, which certainly is one of the reasons that they will miss the playoffs for the ninth straight year. Get your NFL football odds with Bodog today.

The road to that berth appears harder for the Panthers and it begins at home against one of the league's top offenses in the Broncos.

Carolina, who is a 7.5-point fave this week, is a game behind the New York Giants for the NFC's best record and will visit the defending Super Bowl champions next week before closing the regular season in New Orleans, which is 6-1 at home.

Even if the Broncos lose Sunday, their next two games are not overly tough, as both matchups are against teams with losing records.

Denver has won three in a row on the road, part of its current 4-1 stretch following a three-game losing streak.

Jay Cutler has keyed the turnaround, averaging 302.0 yards passing in the last five games while throwing eight touchdown passes and four interceptions.
Since then the Broncos have gotten their season back on track and built a commanding lead atop the AFC West. Denver looks to move closer to its first playoff berth in three years and avenge its early-season loss to the Chiefs when these division rivals meet Sunday.

After averaging 29.7 points while winning their first three home games, the Broncos have averaged just 14.7 points while losing their last three in Denver. They have never lost four straight games at Invesco Field, and have not dropped four consecutive home games in a single season since 1990.

Larry Johnson has 621 rushing yards and five touchdowns in his last four games against the Broncos, who own the fifth-worst run defense in the league.
