Neil Patrick Harris opened the 2009 Emmys with a routine that is way less gay than Hugh Jackman's Oscar performance.

The first win went to Kristin Chenoweth from the canceled show, Pushing Daisies. Matt Hubbard earned an Emmy for writing for a comedy series, 30 Rock. John Cryer won Best Supporting Actor for his role on Two and a Half Men, upsetting Neil Patrick Harris' bid for his role as the lecherous Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother.

Justin Timberlake handed out the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Emmy to Toni Collette for her work on United States of Tara. Both Timberlake and Tina Fey had won previously for their guest appearances on Saturday Night Live so they took to the stage to say a few words.

Jeffrey Blitz won an Emmy for his work directing The Office. Not surprisingly, Outstanding Lead Actor in a comedy went to Alec Baldwin.

"I'll be honest, I'd trade this to look like him," Baldwin said, referring to presenter Rob Lowe.

Outstanding reality TV host went to Jeff Probst for hosting Survivor. This is the second Emmy win for Probst, who had won previously in 2008.

Tracy Morgan presented the award for Outstanding Reality Show, which went to The Amazing Race again. On for an incredible sixteen seasons, The Amazing Race has earned eight Primetime Emmy Awards, including all seven "Outstanding Reality-Competition Program" awards that have been given.

Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie went to Shohreh Aghdashloo for her work on House of Saddam. Ken Howard won for Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for HBO's Grey Gardens, which also won Outstanding Made for TV Movie. Outsanding Actor in a Miniseries or Movie went to Brendan Gleeson for HBO's Into the Storm. Outstanding Directing for Miniseries or Movie went to Dearbhla Walsh for Little Dorrit.

Alec Baldwin handed out the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie went to Jessica Lange for performance in Grey Gardens. Little Dorrit won for Outstanding Miniseries.

Bruce Gowers won for Outstanding Director for American Idol. The writing team from The Daily Show won for – well, writing.

"I haven't had anything to say since George Bush left office," a Daily Show writer said when accepting the award.

Ricky Gervais presented the Daily Show's second award, which Jon Stewart himself accepted for Outstanding Variety Show.

LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell presented Outstanding Supporting Actor in a drama series to Lost's Michael Emerson, while 24's Cherry Jones earned an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a drama series. Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama series went to Damages Glenn Close and Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston took his second Emmy for Oustanding Lead Actor. Meanwhile, the writing team for Mad Men won for their efforts.

Finally, the two biggies: Not surprisingly, favorite to win 30 Rock took the Emmy for Best Comedy Series, which is its third win in a row in this category. Best drama went to Mad Men, which won last year as well.

There you have it folks. Did your Emmy picks pull through this year?
Tonight's 61st Emmy Awards are going to be exciting. Like, do you think 30 Rock will steal the show for a third year in a row? Or is it Family Guy's time to shine? Perhaps huge longshot Flight of the Conchords will cause an Emmy upset? Whoever wins Best Comedy, it is definitely the year for emerging comedies. Shows like How I Met Your Mother and The Office are light years away from crappy comedies of the past, like Everybody Loves Raymond and Home Improvement.

Toni Collette is nominated in the best actress in a comedy series for her performance as a mom with multiple personalities in United States of Tara, but the frontrunner is 30 Rock's Tina Fey. However, we're thinking it's time for a Emmy upset, and Collette is just the gal to do it.

Even though Alec Baldwin will most likely take home the Emmy for his portrayal as the infamous Jack Donaghy in 30 Rock, Jim Parsons will give him a run for his money for his outstanding performance in The Big Bang Theory.

Breaking Bad, Dexter and Mad Men are among the top contenders for Best Drama. Lost will most likely emerge the victor, but Breaking Bad and Mad Men are also solid picks.

Who will be taking home the golden statue? Be sure to get your Emmy betting now before tonight's big show! Emmy nominee Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother hosts tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS Live from L.A.'s Nokia Theatre.

Yes – Ellen DeGeneres has fallen, folks. The biggest upset at the Daytime 2009 Emmys was that the women of The View took the Emmy for Best Talk Show Host category, a title DeGeneres had taken for the last four years. However, this year it went to the ladies of The View, who were not on-hand to collect their statue.

The Bold and the Beautiful won its first Best Drama Series Emmy, and Guiding Light's Jeff Branson tied for the Best Supporting Actor award with Vincent Irizarry of All My Children. Best Acting honors went to Susan Haskell from One Live to Live for lead actress, Christian LeBlanc from The Young and the Restless for lead actor, and Tamara Braun from Days of Our Lives for supporting actress. Darin Brooks from Days of Our Lives and Julie Berman from General Hospital won the younger actor and actress Emmys.

Tyra Banks won for Best Talk Show: Informative, while Rachel Ray won for Best Talk Show: Entertainment. Meredith Vieira won for her job hosting Who Wants to Be a Millionaire while a Lifetime Achievement award went to Sesame Street.

There is still a whole lot of Emmy betting available in the Bodog Sportsbook. Be sure you bet before the live show – Sunday, September 20 at 8/7c on CBS.

The Best Actor and Actress categories are always the most exciting part of the Emmy Awards and after sweeping the Emmys last year, Tina Fey (4/7) once again has the best odds to win Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as the awkward Liz Lemon on 30 Rock.

Fey will be competing against Mary Louise Parker (2/1), who earned a nomination for her role as a drug dealing momma in the Showtime hit, Weeds. Christina Applegate (7/2) is also nominated for her role in the recently canceled Samantha Who? , though she has recently earned extensive press for undergoing a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer, as well as being named People magazine's most beautiful person for 2009. Applegate is also well-known for her hilarious portrayal of Kelly Bundy on Married With Children for ten years.

Other nominees include Julia Louis-Dreyfus (3/2), who spent eight years on Seinfeld and two on her current series, The New Adventures of Old Christine. Toni Collette (5/2) is also a strong contender for her work on Showtime's United States of Tara.

However, we always come back to Tina Fey, whose career seems to have the momentum of a freight train. Not only is she nominated for Best Actress but the show she created, 30 Rock is also getting the Best Comedy nom, her fellow castmembers are getting some love and Fey was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her genius portrayal as Alaskan Govenor Sarah Palin. Will Fey be the unstoppable force she was last year?

The Emmy countdown has begun and as usual, last year's Emmy golden child 30 Rock (4/9) is the strong favorite to win the Best Comedy category once again. Tina Fey's NBC hit won in the comedy category the past two years and earned 22 nominations this year. However, there are little shows with a lot of heart waiting in the wings to snag the coveted prize. Cult shows including Fox's Family Guy (5/2) and HBO's Flight of the Conchords (5/1) are two such edgy comedies that had previously gone unrecognized.

Other comedies that have earned nominations include Entourage (5/1), The Office (37/20), How I Met Your Mother (2/1), Weeds (4/1) and of course, 30 Rock.

If you haven't been glued to your couch like your Bodog Beat staffers, we're going to break it down for you: Entourage centers around a young Hollywood actor, Vincent Chase. Chase rose to fame and brought his buddies from the Bronx along for the ride with him. The show is often stolen by Jeremy Piven's work as Chase's fast-talking agent, Ari Gold. Often, the show goes a little over-the-top and at times Vincent's aloof attitude juxtaposed against characters such as Johnny Drama is slightly unbelievable, but for viewers, the show itself is a welcome escape into the the world of superficial Hollywood.

After being addicted to Ricky Gervais' British version of The Office, when the American version was launched, we expected eminent failure. But – we were totally wrong! Steve Carell played the part of the lonely and delusional office manager, Michael Scott, perfectly. Carell is nominated for Best Actor and The Office is nominated for Best Comedy.

Flight of the Conchords has been one of our favorite shows over the past year. The Grammy Award-winning New Zealand comedy duo – Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement - play themselves as they attempt to develop an American fan base in New York City.

How I Met Your Mother is just plain good TV. Neil Patrick Harris totally steals the show as the lecherous Barney Stinson. Family Guy is great TV for some serious laughs. Although often disjointed, the show thrives on parody which sometimes misses the mark, but at other times, is pure genius.

Who will take home the Best Comedy Emmy? Get all your Emmy odds in the Bodog Sportsbook today.

If you're having an Emmy party, or just want to make a little extra dough, the Bodog Sportsbook has the latest Emmy odds for the 61st annual award show. Leading the pack with 22 nominations, NBC's 30 Rock has the best comedy edge for bettors (4/9), followed by best drama nominee, the 1960s advertising saga Mad Men (4/7), which has 16 nominations. Now competing with cult classic Flight of the Conchords (5/1), Tina Fey’s 30 Rock has won in the comedy category the past two years.

For the reality TV category, Dancing with the Stars (20/29) and Project Runway (3/1) are your best bets. Project Runway, Heidi Klum's show that follows fledgling fashion designers as they compete to make the most inspired runway creations, has already earned the prestigious Peabody Award.

Other categories include Best Variety, Music or Comedy show, with Saturday Night Live given 5/4 odds and The Colbert Report at 1/1. Jon Stewart's The Daily Show has been given a respectable 7/4.

Will Tina Fey win for best actress again? Will Michael C. Hall finally get a best actor for his portrayal of a likable serial killer in Dexter? Be sure to throw a huge Emmy party and make it waaaay more interesting by having your friends wager on the Emmy Awards!

The 2009 Emmy Nominations were big this year – bigger than usual, with the academy adding a sixth nominee to the best drama and best comedy categories, as well as the acting categories. The Emmy's were "cooler" this year too, nominating cult shows including Fox's Family Guy and HBO's Flight of the Conchords, two edgy comedies that had previously gone unnoticed by such high-brow recognition.

Other comedies that earned some well-deserved recognition are Entourage, The Office, How I Met Your Mother, Weeds and last year's Emmy golden child, 30 Rock. Tina Fey's NBC hit won in the comedy category the past two years and earned 22 nominations this year.

Best Drama nominees included the 1960s advertising drama Mad Men, serial killer show, Dexter, break-out hit, Breaking Bad, as well as House, Lost, Damages and HBO's Big Love.

Hilarious How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris is slated to host the festivities.

"I'm looking forward to the challenge of the show — adding my own voice to it, while honoring the nominees and the entire year in television," Harris said in a press release. "But which voice to choose? I'm torn between gangsta, foppish Brit, and robot. Really proud of my robot. We'll see what happens on the night."

Payback's a bitch. At least, that's the philosophy Grey's Anatomy writers are living by. Us Weekly is reporting that the writers are getting back at the ungrateful cast member by giving her a brain tumor. Booo Yeah!

Us reports: "[Producer] Shonda [Rhimes] and the writers are pissed at her," the source tells Us. "It’s their way of screwing with her. She won’t know whether she’s going to live or die."

After Heigl withdrew her name from Emmy consideration blaming the Grey's writers for lack of material, the rumor has been that Heigl is hoping to get booted from the show so that she can focus on her more lucrative movie career. However, if her character does get killed off — writers are going to make it a long and painful death.
