The story of the Golden Boy Erick Lindgren has come to an abrupt end tonight in Day 2A of the WSOP Main Event.

Lindgren got it all in pre-flop with jacks against his opponent’s kings. The board did nothing for him and his stack was crippled. Then in the very next hand he pushed pre-flop again, this time with A-J off-suit and the same player called him, this time with pocket sevens. With no connection on the board for Lindgren he hit the rails and was gone.

Lindgren’s third place finish in the $50,000 WSOP HORSE Championship had been the most recent deep run in what was his most successful WSOP to date. It was also the icing on Lindgren’s WSOP Player of the Year cake.

He also finally lost his moniker of being the "Best Poker Player Never to Win a WSOP Bracelet” this year when he won the $5,000 NL WSOP prelim event. He cashed in three other WSOP events this year.

Where is he now? Probably betting Daniel Negreanu that he can ride a tricycle up Mount Everest with a rabid chicken tied around his neck. He'll probably do it too.

We are seeing an incredible comeback from Eric Lindren in the WSOP HORSE Championship. Lindgren, who had originally come into final table as the chip leader with 3,680,000 in chips, was soon crippled and taken down below the one million mark. But Lindgren didn't panic. He ended up holding on by a thread for over an hour waiting patiently to make his move. And make his move he did.

Chip counts during the current break are as follows: Michael DeMichele with 5,730,000, Scotty Nguyen with 4,605,000 and Lindren with 4,465,000.

We're not exactly sure what Nguyen was upset about in the above picture but he was definitely steamed about something after the last hand before the break. He seemed annoyed by the way DeMichelle played the hand. It might also have something to do with Lindgren's comeback, the fact that it's 2:30 in the morning and he's been playing poker against the toughest WSOP field imaginable for five days straight. Hell, we're tired from just writing about it.

But we're here for the long haul and will keep bringing updates on the WSOP HORSE Championship until our fingers fall off, so stay tuned to Bodog Beat for WSOP news with that special insomniac edge.
