If you start 4-0 in the NFL, as five teams have done this season, you can just about make those postseason arrangements: Since 1990, 84 percent of teams to win their first four games have reached the playoffs.

In concert with Bodog Sportsbook's NFL team props on which team will be the last to win a game, they've also got a football prop bet on which will be the last unbeaten team. There are no 2007 Patriots or 1985 Bears-type teams in here – i.e. no club will probably reach double-digit wins without a loss and threaten the 1972 Dolphins' lone perfect season.

Get your NFL team props at Bodog!
Don't have a Bodog account? Join now. It's FREE.

Let's look at the five teams left without a blemish and their chances to be the last one standing:

Indianapolis Colts (+190): Don't waste your money on the Colts here – sorry, Indy fans, but I think this team is a bit of a fraud. Peyton Manning has been unbelievable as the Colts lead the league in total offense. But that is totally misleading: Indy is tops in passing (by a mile) but 29th in rushing. The defense has been great, holding the past two opponents, Arizona and Seattle, to a combined 73 yards rushing. But the injury to Bob Sanders on defense and to WR Anthony Gonzalez on offense will catch up to this team sooner than later – maybe Monday night at Tennessee. Then Indy is off before playing at the Rams and then a tough three-game home stretch vs. the Niners, Texans and Patriots.

New Orleans Saints (+225): Well, if you for sure want your money to last through this weekend, you will bet on the Saints – they are off this week. But then they host the Giants, are at the Dolphins and host the Falcons, all playoff teams from last year. Drew Brees hasn't thrown a TD the past two weeks or thrown for more than 190 yards. I don't buy that the Saint running game will stay at such a high level for too much longer. New Orleans could have two losses by the first weekend of November, but if it beats the Giants, I will be a believer.

New York Giants (+225): The G-men might as well have a bye this week: They face Oakland. I might have called the Giants the favorite for this prop before Eli Manning started suffering from plantar fasciitis – intense pain in the heel. This is something that really won't go away this season and will just have to be managed. Manning has started 82 games in a row and says he will play against the Raiders, but if he misses a game or any significant time in one, all bets are off on this team. Plus New York might lose as soon as next week at New Orleans.

Minnesota Vikings (+350): You might wonder why Minnesota doesn't have shorter odds, but just take at look at its upcoming schedule: at St. Louis (OK, forget that one), vs. Baltimore, at Pittsburgh, at Green Bay. That probably means Brett Favre and Co. reach 6-0 at best.

Denver Broncos (+1600): By far and away the most surprising team in the league so far, and it's been mostly because of defense, which always was this team's Achilles' heel under Mike Shanahan. Last week, as home dogs against Dallas, the Broncos held the NFL's top-rushing team (albeit without Felix Jones and a limited Marion Barber) to just 74 yards on 25 carries. Elvis Dumervil has become a sack machine, with eight in his past three games. And QB Kyle Orton has done just enough to win, as he often does: the former Bear is 17-2 at home as a starter in his career. But look for Denver to go down to defeat on Sunday at home against the Patriots. Then come games at San Diego, a bye week, at Baltimore and home to Pittsburgh. I wouldn't be shocked if Denver is 4-4 entering Week 10.

So what's the best bet here? Certainly this football team prop is tougher than determining the final winless team. The Colts have the easiest schedule upcoming, so if you think they win at Tennessee, take Indy because of what follows (including a bye week). But if you don't, I would go with who you think wins next week's Giants-Saints game, and New Orleans has the benefit of an off week to prepare (and obviously can't lose this week).

This is a cool prop to get in on, folks: The last unbeaten team will be?

Elsewhere on the Bodog Beat, you will find a story where I tackled the Bodog prop bet of how many 1,000-yard rushers there will be this NFL season. I recommended under the total of 16½. Now let's hit on the receiving version of that prop listed on Bodog.

Get all your NFL player props and NFL team props at Bodog.

The site's over/under for receivers to reach 1,000 yards in 2009 is 21½. Before doing any research, that seems like a very high number. But there were 22 guys who accomplished the feat in 2008 and 23 in 2007 – but just 19 in 2006.

Now obviously there are two starting receivers (at least) per team, so the number of pass catchers to exceed 1,000 yards should always better the number of rushers who do so, since only one back starts per team. And I'm not even including the tight end as a starting receiver – and that position is absolutely part of this prop, so would be any running back that might exceed 1,000 yards receiving; the most yards a back has had receiving since the 2002 season is Charlie Garner's 941 in ’02.

Plus, more and more teams are going to the no-huddle, or shotgun on earlier downs, and thus passing more after seeing what the Patriots did in 2007 – the Bills, for one, plan to run the no-huddle frequently this year.

So what's the answer?

Here is a quick look by team, in no particular order, that seems a lock to have a 1,000-yard receiver:
Vikings (Bernard Berrian), Redskins (Santana Moss), Lions (Calvin Johnson), Packers (Greg Jennings and Donald Driver), Saints (Marques Colston), Falcons (Roddy White and tight end Tony Gonzalez), Panthers (Steve Smith), Seahawks (T.J. Houshmandzadeh), Cardinals (Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald), Chiefs (Dwyane Bowe), Broncos (Brandon Marshall – assuming he's still a Bronco and/or not suspended), Chargers (either Vincent Jackson or Antonio Gates), Colts (Reggie Wayne), Texans (Andre Johnson), Patriots (Randy Moss and Wes Welker), Bills (Terrell Owens and Lee Evans), Steelers (Santonio Holmes), Bengals (Chad Ochocinco), Browns (Braylon Edwards).

That's 24 guys. And I didn't include anyone on the following four teams, all of whom have good quarterbacks: Dallas (only because it’s not clear who will step up with T.O. gone), Chicago (even though the Bears will clearly pass more with Jay Cutler), the New York Giants (who steps up for Plaxico?) and Philadelphia (the Eagles have a lot of options for Donovan McNabb).

Take the over.

On Thursday night the Indianapolis Colts will close out their preseason in Cincinnati against the Bengals.

Peyton Manning looked sharp in a loss to the Lions on Saturday, connecting on 12-of-15 passes for 123 yards in two-plus quarters for the Colts.

It's highly probable Manning won't play against Cincinnati. Backup QB Jim Sorgi hasn't played in the first three preseason games because of a hamstring injury, but he is expected to play extensively against the Bengals and it wouldn't be surprising if he started.

The Bengals are coming off a loss to the Rams. With Carson Palmer still injured, the offense has moved the ball in spurts but failed to get many points because of penalties and mistakes.

Can the Bengals take advantage of a Colts team that will most likely be resting a lot of their offensive weapon? At least the Bengals have finally signed top draft pick Andre Smith after a lengthy contract stalemate.

The storyline for the Indianapolis Colts' offense this week will be the same as it is for nearly every NFL team entering the next-to-last preseason game. It is all about how the unit looks in its most extended preseason playing time.

Fans might get their best preseason chance to see how Donald Brown and Joseph Addai will be used during the regular season.

The Lions, who are 1-1 so far in preseason, hope to get a better game out of QB Matthew Stafford. He seemed to be in the lead for the starting job entering the game at Cleveland, but took a big step backward.

Time for Peyton Manning to get to work. There is a new left tackle, a bunch of young receivers, and an old guard coming back.

Tonight Week 2 of NFL preseason continues when the 3-point favored Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts hook up.

The Colts plan to hold out 10 players, including six starters. Safety Antoine Bethea and defensive end Raheem Brock are both out with broken hands, Kelvin Hayden is out with a hamstring injury, and Robert Mathis will not play because of a bruised thigh. Safety Bob Sanders and kicker Adam Vinatieri won’t play either

Besides Michael Vick, Philadelphia plans to leave at least seven regulars home, including four of its projected starters on the offensive line and backup QB Kevin Kolb.

Those changes have prompted the Colts to revise their traditional preseason approach. Instead of simply trying to avoid injuries, Manning wants the starters to get a little more work.

The 1-point favored Minnesota Vikings will have their first test of the season against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.

This matchup is very interesting since a lot of fans like the odds of Minnesota and Indianapolis representing their respective conferences at Super Bowl XLIV.

The Colts are notorious for being cautious in the preseason, so why should that change? They know what they have and won’t push their starters to play too much. The Vikings, on the other hand, need to figure out their quarterback situation.

Tarvaris Jackson is reportedly ready to go, but don't expect more than a few snaps for a guy returning from an MCL sprain. Bob Sanders is out for Indy and Donald Brown should probably play.

Manning is unlikely to see much work in the preseason this year so look for backup Jim Sorgi (when healthy) and rookie Curtis Painter to get much of the action.

The Indianapolis Colts will start a season without future Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison on the roster for the first time since 1995, but Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai and Dallas Clark are all back, meaning this again will be one of the more effective offenses in the league. In all kindness to Harrison, he wasn't much of a contributor to last year's club.

Manning, by the way, is completely healthy, which he wasn't last year in camp in dealing with his knee issue.

Of course Indy also opens this season without coach Tony Dungy, who has been replaced by Jim Caldwell. The team also lost offensive coordinator Tom Moore and offensive line coach Howard Mudd, both in their roles since 1998 and both of whom Manning is a big fan of, to retirement over a pension issue. But both returned to the team late in the offseason, and both should return to their former roles even if they technically are called consultants.

Bet on the Indianapolis Colts.
Get all your NFL odds and NFL futures at Bodog.

One big key to this season will be the offensive line and its run blocking. Last year, the Colts finished 31st in the NFL in rushing, averaging just 79.6 yards per game. Injuries were a big role, but Indy also drafted UConn rookie Donald Brown, rather surprisingly, to complement Addai, who was not very good in 2008 with just one 100-yard game and a 3.5 yards-per-carry average. The team doesn't have much receiving depth behind Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez.

On defense the key is also health, mainly of end Dwight Freeney and safety Bob Sanders, who played only six games last year. It seems Sanders does stay healthy in odd years, however, playing 15 games in 2007 (when he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year) and 14 in 2005. The run defense wasn't great last year, but Indy took two huge defensive tackles in this year’s draft.

Basically, as long as Manning, the reigning NFL MVP is upright, this team is in the Super Bowl mix.

Here is the Colts' 2009 schedule, and we'll break it down after:
Sept. 13 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.
Sept. 21 at Miami Dolphins, 8:30 p.m.
Sept. 27 at Arizona Cardinals, 8:20 p.m.
Oct. 4 vs. Seattle Seahawks, 1 p.m.
Oct. 11 at Tennessee Titans, 8:20 p.m.
Week 6: Bye
Oct. 25 at St. Louis Rams, 1 p.m.
Nov. 1 vs. San Francisco 49ers, 1 p.m.
Nov. 8 vs. Houston Texans, 1 p.m.
Nov. 15 vs. New England Patriots, 8:20 p.m.
Nov. 22 at Baltimore Ravens, 1 p.m.
Nov. 29 at Houston Texans, 1 p.m.
Dec. 6 vs. Tennessee Titans, 1 p.m.
Dec. 13 vs. Denver Broncos, 1 p.m.
Dec. 17 at Jacksonville Jaguars, 8:20 p.m.
Dec. 27 vs. New York Jets, 4:15 p.m.
Jan. 3 at Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 13th (opponents combined to go 131-125, .512, in 2008)
Projected record: 11-5
Bodog over/under total: 10
Bodog odds to win AFC South: 3/2
Bodog odds to win AFC: 13/2
Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 12/1 (subject to change)

Do you think the Colts can win Super Bowl XLIV?
Then bet on them to win. NFL futures at Bodog.

For the first time in five years, the Colts don't open the season in a prime-time game. In fact, they don't host a Monday night game for the second straight year. Since 2002, the Colts are 19-8 during the regular season in prime-time games, by the way.

Indy does get to open at home for the third straight year (1-1 in that span). The Jags shocked Indianapolis last year there in the Colts' second home game, but don't look for that again. That trip to Miami is the Colts' first for a regular-season game since 2003 – of course Indy won the Super Bowl there a few years ago. The game with the NFC champion Cardinals is Indy's first visit to the desert in 19 years and just the second matchup between Manning and Kurt Warner.

October should be a relatively easy month with two games against NFC West doormats from 2008 and a bye week sandwiched around a tough one at Tennessee. The Titans and Colts split two last year and probably will again.

November is an incredibly tough month, with only the 49ers probably not a playoff contender (and even that’s debatable).

Sure, the Colts are 13-1 against the Texans, but Houston is on the rise and both games were decided by a total of 10 points in Indy's sweep last year. Don't look for another sweep in 2009. Of course the game of the year, as usual, is against the Patriots. These two will meet in prime time for the fifth time in six seasons, with all meetings since 2005 coming during November. Indy has won four of the past five meetings overall.

That December opener against Tennessee could be the key to the AFC South crown, which the Colts had won five years in a row before the Titans finally took away last year. The Broncos and Jets should be no trouble at home for the Colts. Maybe Indy loses one of those road games.

There has been a lot of turnover on this team, mostly on the coaching staff, so that NFL record of 12 or more wins in six straight seasons probably won't continue, but the streak of seven consecutive postseason appearances, the longest in the NFL currently, will.

After falling to the San Diego Chargers 23-17 in front of an elated crowd at Qualcomm Stadium, Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy walked off the field looking as though he had been defeated for the last time. If Dungy does retire from the NFL, it wouldn't come as much of a surprise; the Colts' coach has been giving the idea some amount of thought.

"I'll try to get over the disappointment of this loss, talk things over with my wife and see where we go from here," Dungy said.

Dungy is the first African American coach to win the Super Bowl when his Colts beat the Chicago Bears in 2007. In December of 2008 (after a win against the Jags), Dungy set a new NFL record for most consecutive playoff appearances by a head coach.
