If you are a betting backer of one of the six NFL teams still without a win through four weeks, you probably are tired of losing your money on that team. And you certainly can forget about the playoffs if your club is 0-4, as just one team since 1990 that started with four losses has made it to the postseason (the 1992 Chargers).

The last winless NFL team will be…?
Get your NFL team props at Bodog.

So the folks at Bodog Sportsbook have come up with a good NFL prop on which you maybe can make some of your money back. You can wager on the site on which of those six teams will be the last to get a victory this year.

Let's take a look at the top bottom six:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+225): That the Bucs are "favored" to win this prop is a tad surprising to me. Maybe it shouldn't be. Tampa Bay has no direction at quarterback, with Josh Johnson basically holding the job until 2009 first-round pick Josh Freeman is ready. The Bucs aren't very good on offense (28th in points per game) or defense (25th in points allowed). They may not be favored in a game the rest of the season, and they certainly won't win this week at Philly. But Week 6 against Carolina is a possibility even though Tampa Bay has won just one of its past six at home against the Panthers. Other than that Week 9 off a bye against Green Bay seems a shot for Tampa Bay. I don't think the Bucs make it to Week 10 without a loss.

St. Louis Rams (+250): That St. Louis isn't the favorite to be the last winless team definitely is a surprise. It has dropped an NFL-high 14 games and managed just 24 points this year to go with the worst point differential in the league at minus-84. Unlike the Bucs, Browns or Chiefs on this list, the Rams do have an elite running back in Steven Jackson. But the Rams' QB situation might be the worst in the league, because they don't even have a future guy in place and Marc Bulger just isn't cutting it when healthy. The game everyone is pointing to for this team is Week 8 at Detroit, with the loser quite possibly getting the No. 1 pick in the draft. I say the smart money among the winless teams should go on St. Louis.

Cleveland Browns (+250): The Browns just aren't this bad. And they might get better by trading Braylon Edwards, who had become a major distraction, headache and pass-dropping nightmare. Cleveland has a winnable game this week at Buffalo, then another one in Week 7 at home against the Packers.

Kansas City Chiefs (+400): This is a young team with a lot of talent that simply needs to learn how to win – something the Chiefs have done only twice since Week 8 of the 2007 season. Matt Cassel clearly isn't comfortable in the offense yet, and the Chiefs have dropped eight in a row at home. But don't count out an upset this week against Dallas. If not, Week 9 or 10, at Jacksonville and at Oakland, respectively, could be the Chiefs' first win.

Tennessee Titans (+1200): Everything that could go wrong has for the Titans. Just a year ago they led the NFL in wins; now they actually have lost six in a row counting last year's playoffs. Kerry Collins has six picks already after having seven all last year. The defense really misses Albert Haynesworth, ranking 31st against the pass and allowing 27 points a game after giving up just 16 per last year. But there's way too much veteran pride for this to continue much longer – look for an upset of the Colts this week.

Carolina Panthers (+1600): The Panthers seem very solid at every position but the most important one: quarterback. They also have something over these other teams don't, and that's three losses instead of four. Last week's bye came at just the right time for Carolina and QB Jake Delhomme. They will beat the Redskins this week or the Bucs next, so the oddsmakers were wise to list the Panthers as the longest shots.

To summarize, the Rams are probably the most likely team to win this prop, but the Chiefs might provide the best value. K.C. does have one benefit at home, however, that St. Louis won't soon: the elements could help the Chiefs slow down and upset a better team, while the Rams play indoors.

As the Seattle Seahawks prepare for a Saturday night game against the 2.5-point favored Kansas City Chiefs, they will also be checking out their newest member.

Edgerrin James is Seattle’s latest aging star running back, less than a year and half after Shaun Alexander was booted out of town.

The league’s leading active rusher signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday night. The team is hopeful he can help revive a rushing offense that has been generally quiet since 2006, when Alexander was the NFL MVP and Seattle was in its only Super Bowl.

The Chiefs have also added two new blockers leading up to this week's game.

Andy Alleman and Ikechuku Ndukwe were in uniform and sweating through Tuesday’s morning practice, just a day after the Chiefs sent Miami an undisclosed 2010 draft pick for them.

Todd Haley said he expects them both to compete for starting positions and to play Saturday against Seattle.

Brett Favre (unless he retires again) will make his debut in purple tonight when the Minnesota Vikings look to build upon their 13-3 victory in Indianapolis. They will take on the Kansas City Chiefs, who lost to the Houston Texans 16-10 last week.

As we all know, Favre is the new commander off the Vikings offense after signing a two-year deal with the team. Don't get too excited about seeing Favre play that much however. It has been reported that Favre has been rusty in practice while fellow pivot Sage Rosenfels has looked very sharp.

Kansas City should play hard in their second preseason game of the season with position battles still going on – not to mention the amount of media attention that will be surrounding this preseason game.

Matt Cassel’s Chiefs debut was brief with only five pass attempts but he could see some more action against the 3-point favored Vikings.

When the Kansas City Chiefs take the field in their first preseason game against the Houston Texans on Saturday night, it will mark the beginning of the Matt Cassel era.

Thanks mostly to that offseason move, some are even saying Kansas City is going to battle with San Diego for the division this year.

First things first guys. On Saturday the Chiefs are slight 2-point home favorites over the Texans

Houston’s top draft pick, linebacker Brian Cushing, won’t play in Saturday’s preseason opener against Kansas City and could miss the second preseason game as well because of a sprained left knee.

Cushing did not practice Wednesday and instead watched both workouts with a brace on his knee. Coach Gary Kubiak said no one is sure when he was injured, but the knee started bothering Cushing on Tuesday night and he was taken for an MRI.

The Kansas City Chiefs will certainly be different in 2009, and they needed to be different considering this once-proud franchise has won just twice in the past 25 games. The Chiefs were are the center of a trade that actually affected many franchises, acquiring QB Matt Cassel (and linebacker Mike Vrabel) from New England for the relatively low price of a second-round pick. That move eventually led to the Broncos trading Jay Cutler to the Bears, as well as a few other teams re-evaluating their QB situations (Tampa Bay, Washington).

Get your NFL futures at Bodog.

New GM Scott Pioli knows Cassel as well as anyone, as Pioli was the former player personnel director for the Patriots. In fact, the Chiefs already have locked up Cassel long term despite the QB's inexperience.

Also in is new head coach Todd Haley, who directed that high-powered Arizona offense as the coordinator. Outside of the front office changes, the team also traded tight end Tony Gonzalez, coming off one of his best seasons, to the Falcons for a second-round pick next year.

The offense should be good not great this year. Running back Larry Johnson's best days are behind him, and this might be his last season in Kansas City. Cassel could turn receiver Dwayne Bowe into a yearly Pro Bowler, however. On defense, the team is switching to a 3-4. Look for the D-Line to grow into a strength, as the Chiefs have taken an LSU lineman with their first pick in the past two drafts. I guarantee the defense will have more sacks than last year, which isn't saying too much considering the Chiefs only had 10 in 2008 – by far the fewest in the league.

Get your NFL futures at Bodog.

So is different better? Certainly K.C. will be better than last year's 2-14 team, as the Chiefs have had two terrific drafts (so say the experts) the past two years. However, this club is probably at least a year from approaching .500, much less contention.

Here is the Chiefs' 2009 schedule, and we'll break it down after:
Sept. 13 at Baltimore Ravens, 1 p.m.
Sept. 20 vs. Oakland Raiders, 1 p.m.
Sept. 27 at Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m.
Oct. 4 vs. New York Giants, 1 p.m.
Oct. 11 vs. Dallas Cowboys, 1 p.m.
Oct. 18 at Washington Redskins, 1 p.m.
Oct. 25 vs. San Diego Chargers, 1 p.m.
Week 8: Bye
Nov. 8 at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.
Nov. 15 at Oakland Raiders, 4:05 p.m.
Nov. 22 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m.
Nov. 29 at San Diego Chargers, 4:05 p.m.
Dec. 6 vs. Denver Broncos, 1 p.m.
Dec. 13 vs. Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m.
Dec. 20 vs. Cleveland Browns, 1 p.m.
Dec. 27 at Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m.
Jan. 3 at Denver Broncos, 4:15 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 17th (opponents combined to go 123-131-2, .484, in 2008)
Projected record: 5-11
Bodog over/under total: 6
Bodog odds to win AFC West: 8/1
Bodog odds to win AFC: 35/1
Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 65/1 (subject to change)

Only six games against 2008 playoff teams, which is largely in part to playing in the weak AFC West (and finishing last in that division). Look for the Chiefs to get their first win in Week 2 against Oakland. It was in Oakland last Nov. 30 that Kansas City last won. It's the second straight year K.C.’s home opener is against the Raiders, who won 23-8 last year at Arrowhead.

The Chiefs become a NFC East team beginning with the Eagles game – it's the first of four straight against teams from that division. That Oct. 11 matchup against Dallas will be historic – literally. The Chiefs will don "classic" uniforms from their '62 AFL championship season as the Dallas Texans three times this season, including the game against the Cowboys. Both teams inhabited Dallas from 1960-62 but never played, being as they were in different leagues. It's the Cowboys' first visit to Arrowhead Stadium since 1998. K.C. will also wear classic unis against the Chargers on Oct. 25 and Raiders on Nov. 15.

Get your NFL futures at Bodog.

In a bit of a schedule quirk, the Chiefs will play the Bengals for the fifth straight season; Cincy won 16-6 in the regular-season finale last year. K.C. visits Washington, meanwhile, for the first time in eight years.

The season finale in Denver is the first time the Chiefs have finished there since 1968. That one might be to stay out of the AFC West cellar.

In what isn't much of a surprise for such a struggling franchise, Kansas City isn't scheduled for any-prime time games. But look for this team to begin to grow, and it could end the season on a high note with the final five games against non-playoff teams from 2008.

Bet on Super Bowl XLIV now for the best odds of the year. Get your NFL futures at Bodog.

The Kansas City Chiefs (2-12 SU, 8-6 ATS) are in the AFC basement, and top architect Carl Peterson has announced his resignation, effective at the end of the season. Heads will roll when the team hires its new GM.

The Chiefs have still managed to turn a profit with two weeks remaining. QB Tyler Thigpen (15 TDs, nine INTs) has played far better than your typical third-stringer, and the offensive line has improved from 47 sacks allowed last year to 33 this year after 14 games. Kansas City has covered its last three contests and six of the last eight.

This is the time of year when home dogs howl, so the Miami Dolphins (9-5 SU, 6-8 ATS) had best keep their heads up if they want to nail down the AFC East division title. Temperatures at Arrowhead are supposed to dip below 20 degrees.

One more Broncos win or one more Chargers loss and Denver will clinch the West. So, despite playing a team with only two wins, the Chargers will be a desperate bunch on Sunday when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 5.5-point favored Chargers better remember that the Chiefs gave them all they could handle in a 20-19 victory in San Diego earlier this year. The Chiefs went for two points in the closing minute and failed. The Chargers will also have to face Larry Johnson this time around.

Kansas City lost a close one to Denver last week 24-17 and now have lost 20 of 22 games going back to 2007. The Chiefs have the worst defense in the league and only have six sacks as a team.

Since then the Broncos have gotten their season back on track and built a commanding lead atop the AFC West. Denver looks to move closer to its first playoff berth in three years and avenge its early-season loss to the Chiefs when these division rivals meet Sunday.

After averaging 29.7 points while winning their first three home games, the Broncos have averaged just 14.7 points while losing their last three in Denver. They have never lost four straight games at Invesco Field, and have not dropped four consecutive home games in a single season since 1990.

Larry Johnson has 621 rushing yards and five touchdowns in his last four games against the Broncos, who own the fifth-worst run defense in the league.
Oakland has been one of the league's best rushing teams with 122.5 yards rushing per game, which puts the Raiders 10th in the NFL.

Oakland ran for 300 yards in a 23-8 win at Kansas City on Sept. 14. That was the third-highest rushing total allowed by the Chiefs in franchise history.

The Chiefs have lost 19 of their last 20, by far the worst stretch in franchise history. K.C. will try to bounce back from a terrible defensive performance where they lost 54-31 to Buffalo last Sunday, allowing the most points in team history.

The reeling Bills, with Trent Edwards suddenly having a tough time taking care of the ball, look to snap a four-game losing streak when they face the Kansas City Chiefs.

The 3-point favored Bills are sitting at .500 for the first time this season and quickly falling out of the AFC playoff race. In his latest meltdown, Edwards threw three picks in his first six attempts during a 29-27 loss to Cleveland.

This could be an issue against the Chiefs this week. Kansas City's defense has allowed 28 points or more in five of their last six games, but the team is tied for second in the NFL with 21 takeaways.
Buffalo has lost two straight and five of its last six at Kansas City.
