After heavy rains last night, with wet track conditions at Churchill Downs and a tender ankle, the morning favorite I Want Revenge was scratched this morning from the Kentucky Derby.

"When the word came out that running could hurt the horse, I looked at both doctors and said, 'Then this is no debate,'" owner David Lanzman said. "What are we talking about? We'll fight another day."

With Churchill Downs' wet and muddy track conditions, when trainer Jeff Mullins discovered that I Want Revenge's left front ankle was tender when flexed, doctors were called in. Although X-ray and ultrasound tests detected no damage, he was pulled from the race as a precaution.

Now that I Want Revenge is out of the race, Friesan Fire is taking over as the favorite. Post time for the Kentucky Derby is 6:04 p.m. E/T and will be televised nationally by NBC. Get your Kentucky Derby odds in the Bodog Racebook before it's too late.

This year three horses could win the race, so making a pick this year is tougher to do. Three horses are the front runners for the best odds on the day. Pioneerof the Nile has beaten many of the Kentucky Derby field in the past and looks like he's in fine shape this week.

I Want Revenge has been improving all year and will be looking to win his third straight race, and avenge a loss to Pioneerof the Nile he suffered earlier in the year. I Want Revenge worked a blistering five furlong time and his coat is shiny as it can be.

Another horse to watch out for is Friesan Fire. He has had impressive wins leading up to the Kentucky Derby, and also impressed with fast times in training before the race. Be sure to get all your Kentucky Derby betting in the Bodog Racebook now!

With Run for the Roses just a day away, trainers and horses are gearing up for the big event. If all 20 entrants start, this will be the fifth year in a row that the maximum number has run in the Kentucky Derby. Favorite to win, I Want Revenge, who has been unbeaten since switching from a synthetic to a dirt track, will start from post 13 with 3-1 odds on Saturday's running of the $2 million Kentucky Derby.

The post positions were drawn Wednesday and with no monster standouts like Big Brown hoarding the betting action, choosing among the list of 2009 Kentucky Derby contenders can be tricky.

Other Win/Place/Show favorites include Dunkirk, who starts from post 15, and Pioneerof the Nile, who will run from post 16. The fourth wagering choice on the morning line, Friesan Fire, who will start from post 6.

If you're feeling frisky, longshots like Mine That Bird (100/1), Mr. Hot Stuff (45/1) and Advice (30/1), who haven't won a race all year, will payout huge. Don't count any of them out because it's the Kentucky Derby, baby – anything could happen!

Bodog is also giving FREE Casino Chips to Kentucky Derby bettors. So you pretty much win, even if your horse fails to place!

Start your Kentucky Derby party 2-3 hours before the race and encourage guests to start betting early and have awesome Mint Juleps on-hand to keep the party going. Be sure you have a sweet TV to watch all the action. Big-screen is preferable, but as long as you have something that doesn't have bunny ears, you should be good!

Provide all of your guests with current Daily Racing Forms and set up your own betting pool. Create betting guides for your guests that include Kentucky Derby history and betting information. Don't want to do the work? We've done it for you with our own downloadable Bodog Kentucky Derby Betting Guide. Have your guests fill out a pre-printed sheet that lists all their bets. If guests are bored with standard betting, Bodog also has a Kentucky Derby Party Prop Sheet, a handy PDF you can print it out to have fun with weird props like: how long will it take Leann Rimes to sing the national anthem? You can also set up a Kentucky Derby betting station where people can place their Kentucky Derby bets online. For those who are afraid to bet, have a hat contest for the best hat with prizes for Win, Place, and Show.

If your party is a casual bash, offer mint juleps, sandwiches, and chocolate bourbon pecan pie. Bake hat and horse-shaped cookies. You could also plan a southern barbecue with ribs, biscuits, corn on the cob, and salad.

If you want more than one Kentucky Derby cocktail, make Louisville Coolers. In a cocktail shaker, combine 2 ounces Kentucky bourbon, 1 1/2 ounces fresh orange juice, 1/2-ounce fresh lime juice and 1 teaspoon sugar. Shake well and strain into an old-fashioned glass over ice. Garnish with the orange and cherry and serve. Be sure to have cab companies on speed dial!

For complete Kentucky Derby odds for the first jewel in the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred horseracing, visit the Bodog Racebook.

Saturday is looming and the 135th annual Run for the Roses is just two days away and most likely, you've been trolling the Net for the tastiest Mint Julep recipes and now you're looking for the best Kentucky Derby odds. I Want Revenge, who recently had two consecutive wins (the most recent being the Wood Memorial), has an impressive bloodline that includes Seattle Slew and Secretariat.

Dunkirk, the 3-year-old son of Unbridled's Song from the barn of Todd Pletcher, and Bob Baffert-trained Pioneerof the Nile are both listed with 4/1 Kentucky Derby odds and Fresian Fire, trained by Larry Jones, whose ill-fated Eight Belles last year was a Derby runner-up, is listed as a 5/1.

Will these four Kentucky Derby contenders be the four who first cross the finish line on Saturday?
Each year, horse racing aficionados pound Mint Juleps in honor of the Kentucky Derby because there's nothing like watching your winning horse cross that finish line while sipping on a classic.
