The first event was a $300 No Limit Holdem tournament that took place on August 10. It drew 252 entrants who rebought an incredible 358 times to generate a prizepool of $177,510. Nguyen took home $65,700 for hist first-place finish.

The second event was a $500 Omaha Hi-Lo tournament on August 12 that 112 poker players bought into. The total prize pool was $54,320 and Nguyen received $20,535 for outlasting the field.

The culmination of this preliminary tournament series is the $10,000 buy-in 2008 WPT Legends of Poker championship event that kicks off on August 23. Last year's championship final table drew several big names, including David "The Dragon" Pham, Tom "DonkeyBomber" Schneider and champion Dan Harrington, who walked away with $1,600,365 for the victory, and this year looks to draw the same caliber field.

Hey, look at this, more LA Poker Classic news. This post is gonna be really, really short because honestly we should be getting paid for this kind of publicity, but this tournament just keeps giving us good stuff to write about.

Poker legend Men "The Master" Nguyen won his third LA Poker Classic preliminary event, extending his domination of this series. With the $42,870, he got for this most recent win in Event No. 20 – $2,500 Limit Holdem – he has now collected more than $140,000 so far at the Commerce Casino.

We like his odds for the WPT Championship event. That is all.

The LA Poker Classic has been going on for about two weeks now and has pulled in some big crowds along with well-known poker pros who all seem to enjoy what is referred to as "poker camp" by Bodog Poker pro David Williams in his video blog.

In amongst those big name pros is one of the biggest in the world, Men "The Master" Nguyen, who took down Event #10, a $300 buy-in Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo poker tournament. The six-time WSOP Bracelet winner beat out a field of 172 other players to take home the $15,129 first-place prize.

In other LAPC news, according to CardPlayer.com, David "The Dragon" Pham holds a commanding chip lead in Event #11, a $1,065 buy-in No Limit Holdem poker tournament. The dates on the site also show that the event should have wrapped up yesterday, so it's possible that there are more recent updates. Once we know them, so shall you, our faithful reader. Hi mom.
