The latest installment in the Twilight saga, New Moon is breaking records already. It has been verified that vampires definitely beat out comic heroes, as New Moon shattered the record held by Batman, by debuting to $72.7 million from 4,024 North American theaters on Friday, which breaks the single day records of $67 million held by The Dark Knight.

Nikki Finke reports, "Fandango tells me that New Moon was trending to sell more than 10 tickets per second on the site throughout the course of Friday. Both Fandango and MovieTickets.com said New Moon became No. 1 on their list of the Top 10 Advance Ticket Sellers of All Time (unseating the Batman, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings franchises)."

With critics panning the flick, which scored a measly 29% on rottentomatoes.com, young fans don't mind eating up the movie's cheesy pitfalls and shelling out $11 to see some shirtless vampire action.

Scott Mantz of Access Hollywood says, "The narrative is choppy, the pace is slow, it's way too long and, well, not a lot really happens."

However, this does not deter the tweens who want to know if the movie's stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are really an item off-set and are basically in hormone heaven as naked male torsos are paraded around on the screen – with some werewolf' and vampire drama thrown in for sauce.

It’s kind of sad when good, hard working scientists have to spend some of their valuable time explaining to people things like: Santa is not real, the moon landing was, and the world will not actually end in 2012 because there’s a movie where that happens.

Yet that is precisely what NASA has found themselves doing as they recently launched a page on their website that is dedicated to debunking the myth that the world will end in 2012. The rising fear is apparently tied to the upcoming theatrical release of “2012,” a movie with that prospect as its premise.

The basic idea behind the world ending in 2012, comes from a couple things. One, is that the ancient Mayan civilization, who were expert mathematicians and astronomers, had their calendar end in 2012 which to some is an indication that they knew the world would end then. This isn’t exactly true though and even if it was it hardly seems like a good reason to panic.

The Mayan calendar ending was combined with a prediction from the ancient Sumerians that the world would end in 2003 due to Earth colliding with another planet. When that didn’t happen it was just bumped up to 2012 to match with the Mayans. It’s like science only dumber!

For those of you who are still worried that the ancient Mayans (a people who had wheels on their kids’ toys but who never thought to use them for transport purposes – just sayin’) knew something that none of the combined scientists of the world agree with, well you’re just going to have to live in terror until 2013 when you can find something knew to be scared of. Or better yet, check out the NASA 2012 site and have your fears eased by scientists, rather than stoked by Hollywood.

Before the world ends, you might want to make some cash so you can live it up while you're here. Get all your celebrity betting in the Bodog Sportsbook today.

After the abrupt passing of Michael Jackson, director Kenny Ortega decided to turn the This Is It rehearsals into a documentary film.

Now, 120 hours of rehearsal footage has been edited down to just two compelling hours that showcases Jackson rehearsing new and old material. Starting today,This is It is only supposed to run for two weeks, but the massive box office to come might extend the run.

As of 10:45 a.m. ET, rottentomatoes has given This is It a respectable score of 65%, with 15 positive reviews and eight negative.

Andrew Barker of Variety says, "There’s an incredible amount to enjoy here, and the star’s fans will be in rapture. Though Jackson looks painfully thin at times, his vocal prowess and dancing ability seem to have scarcely ebbed at all in the decade he spent offstage."

Elysa Gardner of USA Today raves, "If This Is It doesn't miraculously restore the middle-aged Jackson to his past glory, it at least offers glimpses of his bygone greatness, and poignant suggestions of what might have been."

Negative reviews however, claim the Jackson documentary is as a missed opportunity with little new insight.
It doesn't matter what the reviews say though, as millions of Jackson fans are expected to begin storming the box office today.

Will This is It be the box office smash everyone is expecting?

The burned, diabolically scary kiddie killer Freddy Krueger is back for the new installment of A Nightmare on Elm Street. This Freddy has a different look than the Freddy of the 1984 original thriller, with a face more disfigured than the original and a new actor to boot. Freddy's role will be played by Jackie Earle Haley, which was made famous by the awesome Robert Englund.

Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise scared the crap out of teenagers across America when a serial killer who appeared only in the dreams of the characters, brutally slashed them to death in reality. The movie itself won't hit theaters until April, but Freddy fans can get a sneak peek via a just-released trailer.

The remake of the movie offers more back story on Krueger, giving viewers insight into why he transforms into a kid-killing monster and at the same time, bares a more sympathetic portrayal of Krueger. Also, we hear that the remake lacks the camp and humor of the 1980's version – opting for pure scares with no comic relief. What do you think? Will you be seeing the new Nightmare on Elm Street? Join Bodog now. It's easy and it's free.

Wolverine was supposed to be Fox's first big hit of the summer. But, now the company is scouring the torrents to take down the pirated copies. However, once the movie is out, it's out and this leaked release may affect Wolverine's
opening weekend.

Drew McWeeny at HitFix, who has evidently seen parts of the video file, claims that the copy is “near-finished – marred only by a few unfinished FX shots.” In addition, “there’s no timecode, no watermark – nothing. It’s a clean, perfect copy.”

Do you think Fox will go on damage control? Perhaps they will claim the pirated version is a rough-cut missing key scenes.
