If you start 4-0 in the NFL, as five teams have done this season, you can just about make those postseason arrangements: Since 1990, 84 percent of teams to win their first four games have reached the playoffs.

In concert with Bodog Sportsbook's NFL team props on which team will be the last to win a game, they've also got a football prop bet on which will be the last unbeaten team. There are no 2007 Patriots or 1985 Bears-type teams in here – i.e. no club will probably reach double-digit wins without a loss and threaten the 1972 Dolphins' lone perfect season.

Get your NFL team props at Bodog!
Don't have a Bodog account? Join now. It's FREE.

Let's look at the five teams left without a blemish and their chances to be the last one standing:

Indianapolis Colts (+190): Don't waste your money on the Colts here – sorry, Indy fans, but I think this team is a bit of a fraud. Peyton Manning has been unbelievable as the Colts lead the league in total offense. But that is totally misleading: Indy is tops in passing (by a mile) but 29th in rushing. The defense has been great, holding the past two opponents, Arizona and Seattle, to a combined 73 yards rushing. But the injury to Bob Sanders on defense and to WR Anthony Gonzalez on offense will catch up to this team sooner than later – maybe Monday night at Tennessee. Then Indy is off before playing at the Rams and then a tough three-game home stretch vs. the Niners, Texans and Patriots.

New Orleans Saints (+225): Well, if you for sure want your money to last through this weekend, you will bet on the Saints – they are off this week. But then they host the Giants, are at the Dolphins and host the Falcons, all playoff teams from last year. Drew Brees hasn't thrown a TD the past two weeks or thrown for more than 190 yards. I don't buy that the Saint running game will stay at such a high level for too much longer. New Orleans could have two losses by the first weekend of November, but if it beats the Giants, I will be a believer.

New York Giants (+225): The G-men might as well have a bye this week: They face Oakland. I might have called the Giants the favorite for this prop before Eli Manning started suffering from plantar fasciitis – intense pain in the heel. This is something that really won't go away this season and will just have to be managed. Manning has started 82 games in a row and says he will play against the Raiders, but if he misses a game or any significant time in one, all bets are off on this team. Plus New York might lose as soon as next week at New Orleans.

Minnesota Vikings (+350): You might wonder why Minnesota doesn't have shorter odds, but just take at look at its upcoming schedule: at St. Louis (OK, forget that one), vs. Baltimore, at Pittsburgh, at Green Bay. That probably means Brett Favre and Co. reach 6-0 at best.

Denver Broncos (+1600): By far and away the most surprising team in the league so far, and it's been mostly because of defense, which always was this team's Achilles' heel under Mike Shanahan. Last week, as home dogs against Dallas, the Broncos held the NFL's top-rushing team (albeit without Felix Jones and a limited Marion Barber) to just 74 yards on 25 carries. Elvis Dumervil has become a sack machine, with eight in his past three games. And QB Kyle Orton has done just enough to win, as he often does: the former Bear is 17-2 at home as a starter in his career. But look for Denver to go down to defeat on Sunday at home against the Patriots. Then come games at San Diego, a bye week, at Baltimore and home to Pittsburgh. I wouldn't be shocked if Denver is 4-4 entering Week 10.

So what's the best bet here? Certainly this football team prop is tougher than determining the final winless team. The Colts have the easiest schedule upcoming, so if you think they win at Tennessee, take Indy because of what follows (including a bye week). But if you don't, I would go with who you think wins next week's Giants-Saints game, and New Orleans has the benefit of an off week to prepare (and obviously can't lose this week).

This is a cool prop to get in on, folks: The last unbeaten team will be?

Tom Brady and Randy Moss were on fire Friday night, to the tune of six catches, 90 yards, and two touchdowns early in the second quarter.

Brady did come down awkwardly on his right throwing shoulder, but the early word is it isn’t anything to be concerned with. Then again, when have the Patriots ever been forthcoming with injury information?

The Patriots have one remaining preseason game and that is at home on Thursday against the New York Giants. They will be busy protecting Brady a lot more this time around to make sure he does not get pounded.

Are the Giants ready to take on Brady and company in one last preparation before the regular season starts?

The G-Men lost the annual New York bragging rights game to the Jets on Saturday 27-25. They had a hard time with rookie Mark Sanchez, so it is a good thing Brady probably won't play that much.

Now that the New York Giants have ended training camp, it is time to prepare for the two most meaningful games of the preseason. Next is a game Saturday night against the New York Jets.

The Giants are currently listed as 3-point home favorites in this one.

Eli Manning has looked a bit sluggish and out of sync with his teammates in the first two games. Nothing has happened in the passing game, resulting in two mediocre offensive performances.

The Giants have had some excuses to fall back on. Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce, safety Kenny Phillips, and cornerback Aaron Ross were out, while starting guards Chris Snee and Rich Seubert sat out on offense.

Tom Coughlin plans to play his regulars a little more this weekend against the Jets.

The Jets enter this game looking for their first win of the preseason after losing close ones to both the St. Louis Rams and Baltimore Ravens.

Is there a conspiracy by the NFL to punish the New York Giants? One might think so as the league handed the Giants the most ill-conceived training camp schedule possible. Thanks to league rules governing how many practices a team can have before its first exhibition game, the Giants were the last team in the league to start camp.

Now, after playing Monday night the Giants have to turn around and be in Chicago to face the Bears for their second game just five days later.

That means they practiced on Wednesday, will practice Thursday, and have a quick walk-thru Friday morning. Seems a little rushed even if it is just preseason.

For the Bears they will be looking to get their first win after franchise QB Jay Cutler did not live up to the hype in his debut, as the Bears lost 27-20 at Buffalo.

Sure there are a lot of games this weekend but if you are already looking ahead to Monday Night Football on ESPN you will get to see the Carolina Panthers face the New York Giants.

The Giants enter the preseason looking to re-establish their positive vibes and to get back into the championship groove. At the same time this veteran contender will not likely want to expose key players such as quarterback Eli Manning to injury in the exhibition season.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw should get a fair amount of carries as he is second on the depth chart. He ran for 355 yards and a 5.3 yards per carry average last year.

For Carolina, Jonathan Stewart can't seem to get healthy enough to practice with the team. The running back missed his third straight workout Thursday and has been held out of almost all contact drills when he has practiced.

The New York Giants could very well have repeated as Super Bowl champions last year had one of two things had happened: 1) Plaxico Burress decided to stay in and rent a movie instead of going to a Manhattan nightclub on Friday night in late November; or 2) Burress would have left his illegal gun at home or in the glove compartment of the car.

But we all know that Plax did neither, and the Giants weren’t the same after the No. 1 receiver was suspended. Two days after the Plax incident, the G-Men beat the Redskins for their seventh straight win to improve to 11-1. But then the wheels fell off, with New York losing three of its final four regular-season games. Then the Eagles beat New York for the second time in a month to end the Giants’ repeat bid in the divisional round.

Simply put, the New York offense, especially Eli Manning, wasn’t the same without the threat of Burress. In the Giants’ final five games, including that playoff loss, Manning never threw for more 191 yards, completed only better than 52 percent of his passes twice and threw two touchdowns against four picks. Yet Eli still got a $97 million contract extension this month.

So one would assume that the Giants would have taken major steps to replace Burress in the offseason, but they weren’t able to swing a deal for a veteran receiver like Anquan Boldin or Braylon Edwards. New York did take North Carolina’s Hakeem Nicks at No. 29 overall in the draft. Basically, the Giants will try and mix and match with Steve Smith, Domenik Hixon, Mario Manningham and Hicks. Does that group really scare defenses?

Key backup running back Derrick Ward left for Tampa Bay as a free agent, meaning Ahmad Bradshaw will get more work as Brandon Jacobs’ backup. And defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is now the Rams’ head coach. But that defense should be better this year, especially the line. While Justin Tuck was outstanding last season, the line did wear down. But getting back Osi Umenyiora after he missed all of 2008 will make the pass rush that much better. The team also added tackles Rocky Bernard and Chris Canty. Barring injuries, the defense shouldn’t be a concern in 2009.

Here is the Giants’ 2009 schedule, and we’ll break it down after:

Sept. 13 vs. Washington Redskins, 4:15 p.m.

Sept. 20 at Dallas Cowboys, 8:20 p.m.

Sept. 27 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 1 p.m.

Oct. 4 at Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m.

Oct. 11 vs. Oakland Raiders, 1 p.m.

Oct. 18 at New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m.

Oct. 25 vs. Arizona Cardinals, 8:20 p.m.

Nov. 1 at Philadelphia Eagles, 4:15 p.m.

Nov. 8 vs. San Diego Chargers, 4:15 p.m.

Week 10: Bye

Nov. 22 vs. Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m.

Nov. 26 at Denver Broncos, 8:20 p.m.

Dec. 6 vs. Dallas Cowboys, 4:15 p.m.

Dec. 13 vs. Philadelphia Eagles, 8:20 p.m.

Dec. 21 at Washington Redskins, 8:30 p.m.

Dec. 27 vs. Carolina Panthers, 1 p.m.

Jan. 3 at Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 10th (opponents combined to go 134-20-2, .527, in 2008)

Projected record: 11-5

Bodog over/under total: 10

Bodog odds to win NFC East: 33/20

Bodog odds to win NFC: 9/2

Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 11/1

If New York’s opener and closing two weeks look familiar, it’s because it’s exactly the same as last season. The Giants opened with a win at Washington in 2008 and closed with a win at home against Carolina and loss at Minnesota, and I’d venture to say that all happens again as well. By the way, that Panthers game is New York’s final regular-season game in Giants Stadium.

That Week 2 game in Dallas opens the new $1.2 billion stadium in Arlington. It’s the first of three straight road games for the G-Men, the franchise’s longest consecutive road stretch in the regular season in 15 years (the team won three road games in a row in 2007 on the way to the Super Bowl). The good news is that both Tampa Bay and Kansas City figure to be at the bottom of their respective divisions.

Coach Tom Coughlin is on the record as preferring the bye week later in the season, so he was pleased with it coming in Week 10; it’s the team’s latest since 1991. But then the Falcons matchup marks the Giants’ fourth straight game against a 2008 playoff team.

The quick turnaround for the Thanksgiving game at Denver could be a major test with the Giants having to travel and play in the altitude; the Broncos are home that previous Sunday. It’s New York’s first Turkey Day game since 1992. The NFC East should be decided in that three-game stretch starting Dec. 6 against Dallas.

So can this team reach the Super Bowl again? It has been tremendous on the road, for the most part, the past few years. But not having a clear-cut No. 1 receiver will end this team’s 2009 journey one win short of the NFC title game.

Ryan Ludwick and Rick Ankiel are expected to play tonight when the St. Louis Cardinals open a three-game set at AT&T Park against the resurgent San Francisco Giants.

St. Louis, winner of two in a row and seven of nine, took a one-game lead in the division over Milwaukee with Wednesday's 3-2 victory against the Brewers. The Cardinals' pitching has been outstanding during this nine-game stretch, posting an 0.88 ERA.

St. Louis is looking for a spark from its offense, but that could be difficult as it faces Matt Cain in the series opener. Cain is 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA in his last four starts.

The Giants look for their season-best fifth straight victory at home after winning all three against Atlanta.

Joel Pineiro has been moved up a day in the rotation to start for the Cards. He is 0-2 with an 8.10 ERA in two career starts against San Francisco.
The San Francisco Giants have totaled six hits in each of the first two games of this series, both 2-1 losses. The Giants were 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position on Wednesday.

While that type of offense does not lead to winning baseball games, Lincecum is the type of pitcher that can make low run totals stand up, especially against San Diego.

The righthander is 3-2 with a 1.45 ERA in nine career starts against the Padres, and the Giants have gone 7-2.

The Padres are in position to record consecutive sweeps of at least three games for the first time since 2007.

Kevin Correia will make his first career appearance against San Francisco, where he spent his first six major league seasons. Get your baseball odds with Bodog today.
