The two tangled going for a rebound in the first quarter and Howard whacked Dalembert on the left side of the face. Howard drew a technical foul for the hit.

Heading into tonight's Game 6, the Orlando Magic will certainly be at a huge disadvantage even though they lead the Sixers 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Howard has averaged 24 points and 15.8 rebounds in the series.

They will also be without Courtney Lee, who suffered a fractured sinus after taking an inadvertent elbow to the head from Howard in Game 5.

Orlando likely will start Marcin Gortat in place of Howard, and J.J. Redick for Lee.

Can the 5.5-point favored Sixers take advantage and send the series back to Orlando for Game 7? Get all your NBA playoff odds with Bodog now.

So it was only fitting that they teamed up on the play that could change the series for the Orlando Magic against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Turkoglu hit a 3-pointer over Thaddeus Young with 1.1 seconds remaining Sunday after Lewis set a pick that forced the switch, evening the first-round series at two games apiece.

The Magic hope that will be the confidence boost they need to get them out of their slumps when the best-of-seven series resumes tonight in Orlando for a pivotal Game 5.

The Sixers are in the same position as they were a year ago, when they took a 2-1 series lead on Detroit before losing in six games. The 8.5-point underdog Sixers are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these clubs.
The Sixers will likely need another strong performance from their bench if they have any chance for a repeat in Game 2 tonight.

Louis Williams had 18 points off the bench, and then there was Theo Ratliff banging with Dwight Howard to keep him from getting a few crucial rebounds late.

Once heavy favorites to win the series, the 10.5-point favored Magic now find themselves in a pressure-packed game on their home floor before the best-of-seven series shifts to Philadelphia.

Hedo Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis are still slowed by injuries, and it showed in Game 1. The usually sharp-shooting forwards are the Magic's leading scorers behind Howard but combined for just 21 points, with each clanking jumpers in the final minute that could have sealed a win.

Luckily for Magic backers, the Philadelphia 76ers were even worse down the stretch, dropping six straight and costing themselves a shot at the No. 5 seed before beating Cleveland’s reserves in their finale.

Orlando swept the season series (3-0 ATS), winning twice in Philadelphia, and did a good job defensively against the 76ers, allowing 94 points per game. Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu both scored 23 points in one game and 20 in another. Andre Iguodala averaged 18.3 points and Thaddeus Young added 16.7 for Philly.

It could be Turkoglu or Young that ends up being the deciding factor for each club. Both players had ankle injuries late in the season, and the Sixers really struggled. Turkoglu, with all his postseason experience, is often the player Orlando turns to when it needs a big shot.

The Cleveland Cavaliers can match the best home mark in NBA history with a victory in their regular-season finale tonight at Quicken Loans Arena, but it's the Philadelphia 76ers who are in more dire need of a win.

The Cavaliers' lone motivation before they embark on what they hope will be a lengthy playoff run is to match the 1985-86 Celtics for the best home record in league history. This will pretty much mean limited minutes to starters like LeBron James, Mo Williams and Zydrunas Ilgauskas.

The Sixers are 0-4 against the Celtics and 0-3 against the Magic.

The Cavaliers have won all three meetings with the Sixers this season behind 28.0 points per game from James, and Cleveland has taken five straight in the series overall.

The road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings between these teams. Get all your NBA odds in the Bodog Sportsbook.

The Boston Celtics (60-20 SU, 41-39 ATS) have decided to keep Kevin Garnett out of action until the playoffs, according to reports in the Boston Globe. There was speculation Garnett might play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers (40-40 SU, 36-42-2 ATS). But the Celtics frontline might still get a lift if Leon Powe (knee) can suit up. Powe was listed as day-to-day at press time.

Philadelphia is weaker in the paint without the services of Thaddeus Young (ankle), perhaps the best young player on the team at 15.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The Sixers have lost their last five in a row at 1-4 ATS. But they have something at stake on Tuesday: A chance to catch the Chicago Bulls for the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, therefore avoiding the defending champion Celtics in the first round.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers look to nail down the top seed in the East tonight and continue their pursuit of finishing with the best record in the NBA as they visit the playoff-bound Philadelphia 76ers.

Gaining the top overall record would also boost James' bid to earn his first MVP award. He leads the NBA with a 31.4 scoring average on the road, where Cleveland is trying to avoid a season-high third straight loss.

Cleveland won the first two meetings this season with Philly despite having trouble defending the athletic 76ers on the fast break.

The 76ers have lost three straight to hamper their chances of moving up in the East. They trail fifth-place Miami by one game, and lead seventh-place Chicago by 1 1/2 and eighth-place Detroit by two.

Chicago has moved to the brink of a playoff berth due largely to its dominant play at home. The Bulls have won five straight and 12 of their last 13 at the United Center, and are battling Detroit for the seventh seed.

After posting a season-low point total in a 96-67 loss to New Jersey on Sunday, the 76ers fell 101-98 at Charlotte on Tuesday for their third straight road defeat and second consecutive loss overall.

The 6-point underdog Sixers have won three straight in Chicago, taking the most recent meeting there 103-95 in overtime Dec. 2.

The Philadelphia 76ers look to bounce back from a dismal offensive performance tonight when they visit the slumping Charlotte Bobcats, whose latest loss has pushed them closer to elimination from postseason contention.

The Sixers didn't look like a team still fighting to improve their postseason seed on Sunday in a 96-67 loss to New Jersey. Philadelphia shot 35.1 percent while scoring its fewest points and suffering its largest margin of defeat of the season.

The 76ers were averaging 98.0 points in the previous five games.

Charlotte is giving up an average of 104.0 points in its last three games after allowing 91.3 in the previous eight games, going 6-2.

The Bobcats have won two of three against Philadelphia this season and six of the last seven meetings in Charlotte.

After learning that Thaddeus Young could be sidelined for up to three weeks, the Philadelphia 76ers look to maintain their push toward the postseason tonight when they go for their first season sweep of the Milwaukee Bucks in four seasons.

The 76ers, winners of five of six at home, are coming off Tuesday's 98-85 win over Atlanta. They snapped a two-game skid with the victory, but lost Young when he suffered a sprained right ankle and bone bruise in the final minutes of the first quarter.

Andre Miller had 28 points, nine boards, and six assists in Philadelphia's last game versus the Bucks, which was a 110-105 win in Milwaukee on Jan. 7.
