Tonight they face elimination in Portland.

Yao Ming had 21 points and 12 rebounds in an 89-88 victory over the Blazers on Sunday night. Once his teammates were able to get him the ball inside, Yao was nearly unstoppable. When Portland tried to double him, that left someone else open.

Portland was also hurt by giving up 10 offensive rebounds in the final quarter. Yao is averaging 15.8 points and 10.5 rebounds through the first four games of the best-of-seven series.

Home court could help Portland since the Blazers were 34-7 at the Rose Garden during the regular season.
Brandon Roy did not practice Monday because of flu-like symptoms and LaMarcus Aldridge also didn't practice because of a right elbow strain. Both are expected to play in Game 5.

Yao hit all nine of his shots and all six of his free throw attempts, and the Houston Rockets went on to win 108-81 Saturday night in the first game of the best-of-seven playoff series.

The Rockets and Blazers meet again tonight at the Rose Garden with the Blazers listed as 5.5-point favorites.

Joel Przybilla was assigned to Yao at the start of the game and was no match. Then Greg Oden also got a chance with Houston's big man and that did not seem to work either.

The Rockets also got 27 points and seven assists from Aaron Brooks, while Luis Scola had 19 points and Ron Artest had 17.

The Blazers went 34-7 at the Rose Garden during the regular season, so you have to figure they will come out on a mission tonight.
This is bad news for the Rockets and their backers since Portland is 34-7 (45-36 ATS) at home, one of the league’s best records.

Houston won its two home games but had no chance for the season sweep after falling 101-99 in overtime in November in Portland on Brandon Roy’s 3-pointer as time expired. The Rockets limited the Trail Blazers to 91 points per game in the other two meetings.

Can Ron Artest and Shane Battier stop Roy, who scored 17 in Portland’s victory and averaged 23 in the two games at Houston?
The Denver Nuggets look to clinch the second-best record in the Western Conference and set a franchise record with their 55th win tonight when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers, who can guarantee they'll start the postseason at home with a victory.

The Nuggets, who also matched their franchise-record win total set in 1987-88, can secure second place in the conference with a win or a Houston loss at Dallas.

The Blazers could finish with the same record as the Nuggets by winning this game to earn a split of the four-game season series, but Denver would still win the Northwest title because it will finish with a better record within the division.

The Blazers have one of the league's best home records at 33-7 but finished with a losing record on the road at 20-21.

Portland has won 18 of 20 at home, where it beat Denver 101-92 on Dec. 23. For the best NBA lines head over to the Bodog online sportsbook.

Life without Manu Ginobili continues tonight for the San Antonio Spurs as the Portland Trail Blazers look to end an 11-game losing streak in San Antonio and move into a tie with the Spurs in the crowded Western Conference standings.

Monday the Spurs announced Ginobili would miss the rest of the season, including playoffs, with a stress fracture in his right ankle.

The news leaves San Antonio without one of its key contributors from its last three NBA championship teams.

Things are about to get much tougher with San Antonio's next two games against fellow contenders and possible first-round opponents.

The Blazers would tie San Antonio with a victory Wednesday, but only after Portland survived a lackluster performance for a 96-93 win at Memphis on Tuesday night.

Portland has lost its last 11 road games against the Spurs since 2002, which includes a 1-6 ATS record in the last seven meetings in San Antonio. Head over to the Bodog Sportsbook for the best in NBA betting.

Good thing they have won six straight over the Grizzlies, including three this season, and their last four visits to Memphis.

Don't be too fast to bet against the Grizzlies. They have played well recently and matched a season high with their fourth straight win Saturday, 107-102 over Milwaukee.

Memphis, who is a 6.5-point underdog, last won five straight to end the 2005-06 season. For the best NBA lines head over to the Bodog online sportsbook.

The Portland Trail Blazers look to protect one of the best home records in the NBA tonight when they host the Philadelphia 76ers, finishing a back-to-back set with the finale of a week-long five-game trip.

After a grueling road trip, the Blazers are no doubt excited to be back at the Rose Garden, where they’re 28-6 this season. The Blazers are probably just as excited that the 76ers are finishing a five-game road trip of their own.

Andre Iguodala is averaging 22.8 points and shooting 53.1 percent from the field in Philadelphia’s last six wins. He’s been held to 13.0 points and 34.2 percent shooting in its last three losses.

Iguodala had 29 points with four 3-pointers while going 10-for-17 from the field to lead the Sixers to a 100-79 home win over the Blazers in the teams’ first meeting Jan. 14.
Portland has won three in a row and six of its last eight to move within one-half game of Denver heading into the teams' third meeting of the season. Each has won on their home court.

Having Anthony back should certainly help the Nuggets, who have won 16 of their last 18 at home against Portland, including a 97-89 victory on Dec. 22.

Over their last seven games, the Nuggets are averaging 5.5 points fewer than their 102.8 season average. They also are allowing five more points than the 100.4 they are giving up in 2008-09.

Brandon Roy is averaging 22.7 points this season, but was held to eight on 3-of-11 shooting in this season's loss at Denver.
The 4.5-point underdog Blazers hope to build on a strong finish in their last game by snapping a long road losing streak against the Mavericks. They've lost 16 of their last 18 games in Dallas, including 10 straight since a 100-93 victory on Jan. 26, 2003.

Ending those struggles in Dallas could be a challenge against a Mavs team that's won three straight games and six of eight since a four-game losing streak in January. Dallas has also won 14 of 17 at home after an 0-4 start there.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 30 points and went 12-for-18 to lead Dallas to a 102-94 road win over Portland in the teams' first meeting on Christmas.

Brandon Roy had 22 points against the Mavericks in that game.
