"He says that he cannot eat because the food appears to be spoiled and that the toilet and shower facilities are unspeakably unsanitary," the letter from Flora Edwards said.

"There is excrement in the shower and rats are roaming freely in the area. He says the stench is intolerable," the letter continued.

Follieri, who is being held in a dormatory with 120 other men, is requesting to be moved to another jail while awaiting transfer to prison. He plead guilty to scamming $2.4 million out of investors. Those who lost money to Follieri probably don't feel too bad for him.

According to papers submitted to a Manhattan federal court Tuesday by his lawyer, Follieri "became intoxicated with it all" after living amongst A-listers and celebrities like his girlfriend, Hathaway.

The AP reports that lacking the resources to live their opulent lifestyle, he then began misusing other people's money, his lawyer says.

In the documents, his lawyer wrote that Follieri was, "surrounded by movie stars and celebrities and this young man who neither drinks nor smokes became intoxicated with it all."

Hathaway's ex, Raffaello Foilleri, plead guilty to using the Vatican in order to steal money from investors. Follieri also admitted to misappropriating at least $2.4 million of investor money and redirecting it to foreign personal bank accounts that were disguised as business accounts. He is currently serving a five-year sentence.

A few months after McCain's yacht party, Follieri strengthened his ties to McCain's orbit by retaining Rick Davis's well-connected Washington lobbying firm, Davis Manafort, and offering Davis both an investment deal and help in securing the Catholic vote for McCain's presidential bid."

McCain's people admitted that he did party with Follieri, but said it was "entirely social and nothing came of it."

TMZ reports that while entering his plea, he begged the judge to let him out of his NYC holding cell  because of "unspecified inmate issues." Follieri is reportedly not doing well in jail and has suffered an anxiety attack. He will serve at least five years in prison.
