A rep for the couple said, "Rebecca Romijn gave birth on December 28th to two healthy daughters, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip. Mother, Father and both girls are all home and doing well."

Romijn and O'Connell announced their engagement in 2005 and were married in Ojai, California. The date of the engagement announcement was controversial, as it marked the seventh anniversary with her ex husband, actor John Stamos.

The twin girls are the first children for 36-year-old Romijn, and O’Connell, who is 34.

Romijn recently told Us magazine, "I was never a girl who dreamed about what her wedding day would be like, but I’ve always dreamed about decorating my baby’s nursery.”

According to People, the twins were conceived using fertility treatments with the drug Clomid. "We're trying to get pregnant," O'Connell told People in an earlier interview. "I would be amazing if it happened."

Romijn, who stars in Ugly Betty, also recently told Self magazine that she hoped she would be "lucky enough" to have kids.

The couple were married on July 15, 2007 in Los Angeles.
