<p>With just two laps remaining, Shalane Flanagan knew she had to make her move. And she did.</p>
<p>The American long-distance runner moved up into third with just two laps left on the 10,000 meter race and held on for bronze, posting a U.S. record time of 30:22:22 in the process.</p>
<p>Tirunesh Dibaba of Eithiopia won in an Olympic record time of 29 minutes, 44.56 seconds. She and silver medalist Elvan Abeylegesse of Turkey (29:56.34) became the second and third women to break the 30-minute barrier. </p>
