If you are a betting backer of one of the six NFL teams still without a win through four weeks, you probably are tired of losing your money on that team. And you certainly can forget about the playoffs if your club is 0-4, as just one team since 1990 that started with four losses has made it to the postseason (the 1992 Chargers).

The last winless NFL team will be…?
Get your NFL team props at Bodog.

So the folks at Bodog Sportsbook have come up with a good NFL prop on which you maybe can make some of your money back. You can wager on the site on which of those six teams will be the last to get a victory this year.

Let's take a look at the top bottom six:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+225): That the Bucs are "favored" to win this prop is a tad surprising to me. Maybe it shouldn't be. Tampa Bay has no direction at quarterback, with Josh Johnson basically holding the job until 2009 first-round pick Josh Freeman is ready. The Bucs aren't very good on offense (28th in points per game) or defense (25th in points allowed). They may not be favored in a game the rest of the season, and they certainly won't win this week at Philly. But Week 6 against Carolina is a possibility even though Tampa Bay has won just one of its past six at home against the Panthers. Other than that Week 9 off a bye against Green Bay seems a shot for Tampa Bay. I don't think the Bucs make it to Week 10 without a loss.

St. Louis Rams (+250): That St. Louis isn't the favorite to be the last winless team definitely is a surprise. It has dropped an NFL-high 14 games and managed just 24 points this year to go with the worst point differential in the league at minus-84. Unlike the Bucs, Browns or Chiefs on this list, the Rams do have an elite running back in Steven Jackson. But the Rams' QB situation might be the worst in the league, because they don't even have a future guy in place and Marc Bulger just isn't cutting it when healthy. The game everyone is pointing to for this team is Week 8 at Detroit, with the loser quite possibly getting the No. 1 pick in the draft. I say the smart money among the winless teams should go on St. Louis.

Cleveland Browns (+250): The Browns just aren't this bad. And they might get better by trading Braylon Edwards, who had become a major distraction, headache and pass-dropping nightmare. Cleveland has a winnable game this week at Buffalo, then another one in Week 7 at home against the Packers.

Kansas City Chiefs (+400): This is a young team with a lot of talent that simply needs to learn how to win – something the Chiefs have done only twice since Week 8 of the 2007 season. Matt Cassel clearly isn't comfortable in the offense yet, and the Chiefs have dropped eight in a row at home. But don't count out an upset this week against Dallas. If not, Week 9 or 10, at Jacksonville and at Oakland, respectively, could be the Chiefs' first win.

Tennessee Titans (+1200): Everything that could go wrong has for the Titans. Just a year ago they led the NFL in wins; now they actually have lost six in a row counting last year's playoffs. Kerry Collins has six picks already after having seven all last year. The defense really misses Albert Haynesworth, ranking 31st against the pass and allowing 27 points a game after giving up just 16 per last year. But there's way too much veteran pride for this to continue much longer – look for an upset of the Colts this week.

Carolina Panthers (+1600): The Panthers seem very solid at every position but the most important one: quarterback. They also have something over these other teams don't, and that's three losses instead of four. Last week's bye came at just the right time for Carolina and QB Jake Delhomme. They will beat the Redskins this week or the Bucs next, so the oddsmakers were wise to list the Panthers as the longest shots.

To summarize, the Rams are probably the most likely team to win this prop, but the Chiefs might provide the best value. K.C. does have one benefit at home, however, that St. Louis won't soon: the elements could help the Chiefs slow down and upset a better team, while the Rams play indoors.

It should be interesting tonight when the St. Louis Rams and Cincinnati Bengals hook up.

Both teams will be without their starting quarterbacks. St. Louis' Marc Bulger has a broken pinkie on his throwing hand, and Cincinnati's Carson Palmer is plagued by a sprained left ankle.

Bulger will be replaced by Kyle Boller in tonight's game, where the Rams are pegged as 2.5-point underdogs.

St. Louis is 1-1 in exhibition play after falling at home to the Falcons 20-13 last Friday night.

Palmer is the Bengals' biggest concern with less than three weeks left before the opener on Sept. 13 against Denver. He missed a dozen games last season because of a torn ligament and tendon in his passing elbow.

J.T. O'Sullivan is expected to start for Cincinnati, backed up by Carson's younger brother, Jordan Palmer.

Cincy improved to 1-1 last Thursday, squeaking out a 7-6 win versus New England.

If it weren't for the Detroit Lions, the St Louis Rams would be the laughingstock of the NFL right now. This team has just five total wins in the past two seasons.

So the overhaul began in earnest this offseason. Well, actually it began during last season, when coach Scott Linehan was fired. Interim coach Jim Haslett seemed to provide a spark for about a minute, but then the Rams lost their final 10 games. St. Louis reworked its front office in the offseason and brought in Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as head coach.

The Rams let Orlando Pace and Torry Holt go and now have just one player from the "Greatest Show on Turf" Super Bowl champions: linebacker Leonard Little. This team is trying to build from theinside out, having drafted offensive tackle Jason Smith No. 2 overall this year and defensive end Chris Long at No. 2 last year. That's the Rams' problem: They never lose enough to get that No. 1 overall pick!

Looking for the best NFL player props, NFL team props and NFL futures?
Look no further. Get all your NFL football odds at Bodog.

As for this year, the offense could be at least OK if QB Marc Bulger and RB Steven Jackson (photo) stay healthy. However, Bulger has played a full season only once in his career (in fairness, the one game he missed last year was a coaching decision, not an injury). And Bulger has been trending downward big-time the past few seasons. There's not much behind him, so Bulger is still the guy.

Jackson still is among the better backs in the league when healthy. He had 1,042 yards and seven TDs last year despite missing four games with injury and being very limited in one. Spagnuolo and new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur say that Jackson's power running will be the focal point of the offense. With Holt gone, second-year guys Donnie Avery and Keenan Burton should be the starting receivers, although Avery will miss the first few games with a foot injury.

Bet on the 2009 Super Bowl at Bodog!

On defense, the Rams should at least be very aggressive, as that was Spagnuolo's calling card in New York. Long and Little should provide most of the pass rush, but the Rams were lousy against the run last year. Maybe rookie linebacker James Laurinaitis will help, although the Rams cut 2008 leading tackler Pisa Tinoisamoa (now with the Bears). Free safety Oshiomogho Atogwe is probably the best overall player on the defense. But this unit probably finishes in the bottom five of the league again.

Here is the Rams' 2009 schedule, and we’ll break it down after:
Sept. 13 at Seattle Seahawks, 4:15 p.m.
Sept. 20 at Washington Redskins, 1 p.m.
Sept. 27 vs. Green Bay Packers, 1 p.m.
Oct. 4 at San Francisco 49ers, 4:15 p.m.
Oct. 11 vs. Minnesota Vikings, 1 p.m.
Oct. 18 at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m.
Oct. 25 vs. Indianapolis Colts, 1 p.m.
Nov. 1 at Detroit Lions, 1 p.m.
Week 9: Bye
Nov. 15 vs. New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m.
Nov. 22 vs. Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m.
Nov. 29 vs. Seattle Seahawks, 1 p.m.
Dec. 6 at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m.
Dec. 13 at Tennessee Titans, 1 p.m.
Dec. 20 vs. Houston Texans, 1 p.m.
Dec. 27 at Arizona Cardinals, 4:05 p.m.
Jan. 3 vs. San Francisco 49ers, 1 p.m.

Strength of schedule: 22nd (opponents combined to go 119-137,
.465, in 2008)
Projected record: 3-13
Bodog over/under total: 5 ½
Bodog odds to win NFC West: 10/1
Bodog odds to win NFC: 50/1
Bodog odds to win Super Bowl XLIV: 100/1 (longest shots withLions)

It's a fair bet that the Rams are underdogs in all 16 games this season. I'll be fascinated to see the line for the Toilet Bowl on Nov. 1 in Detroit. As one would expect, no prime-time games scheduled for this team.

The schedule isn't real kind. Four of the first six games on the road. And the two home games are against playoff contenders Minnesota (which is a fellow dome team, so no advantage for St. Louis there) and Green Bay. By the way, St. Louis has just three total road wins the past two years. Wait, that’s better than the two home wins.

The Rams did win in D.C. last year and get another chance to do so. In reality, this team’s only chance to have a winning streak (its two wins came back-to-back last year) comes out of the bye, with three straight games at home. None of those three teams is known as a strong defensive club, so it wouldn’t shock me to see St. Louis win two of those.

At a projected 3-13, the Rams certainly will be in competition for the No. 1 overall pick again. This team needs a franchise quarterback, among many other things, and Oklahoma’s Sam Bradford might be the answer in next April’s draft. Sometimes you have to lose to win.

The 3-point favored Atlanta Falcons continue their preseason tonight with a game in St. Louis against the Rams.

For the second straight week, the Falcons will be facing a team with a rookie head coach. This week it's Steve Spagnuolo, most recently the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.

This will be the second time the two teams have met in the preseason. They also met in the final game of the regular season last year, with Atlanta winning a close contest 31-27.

The Falcons hope to rebound from a sloppy second-half showing by the second- and third-teamers in last Saturday night's 27-26 loss.

Coach Mike Smith said he’ll play the starters for the first quarter in St. Louis, give or take a few snaps.

For the Rams, the script will stay largely the same as last week, with a handful of adjustments.

The St. Louis Rams and the 4-point favored New York Jets will both be gunning for a preseason victory on Friday when they meet at Giants Stadium. The main buzz about this game is everyone's chance to see former Southern Cal standout Mark Sanchez in a new, New York Jet-green uniform.

The 4-point favored Jets will throw out Kellen Clemens and Sanchez as both quarterbacks try to do their best to wow the coaching staff and get the nod as the opening day starter.

The situation in St Louis is much more solidified with Marc Bulger playing only limited action and then giving way to Kyle Boller and Brock Berlin.

Rams coach Scott Linehan hasn’t been one of the best preseason betting picks by any stretch of the imagination with a 5-7 overall record since taking over but he does have a decent 2-1 mark in Week 1.

The Rams have a 4-19 record in division games since the start of the 2005 season, and it is even worse at home. The Rams’ only division win at home since 2005 came over the 49ers in 2006, making them 1-10 in that time frame with San Francisco coming to town.

That was evident in Sunday’s 34-10 loss to Arizona, where Jackson fumbled twice, with one being returned for a touchdown. The Rams are on a path to becoming the lowest-scoring team since the franchise moved to St. Louis in 1995.

This week the Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks, another club that does not exactly light it up on offense. The Seahawks are ranked 25th in the NFL in total points and a large part of that is not having Matt Hasselbeck under center.

Hasselbeck has now missed six games this season with a bad back and will not practice on Wednesday.

Some extra time off and facing a division rival may be just what the Arizona Cardinals need to get back on track and clinch their first division title since 1975 on Sunday when the St. Louis Rams visit University of Phoenix Stadium.

The 14-point fave Cardinals are all but assured of winning the NFC West, needing only one win or one San Francisco 49ers loss. But Arizona has looked vulnerable lately with defeats against the New York Giants and a 48-20 pounding at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles on Thanksgiving night.

In four of their five defeats, the Cards have been held to 50 or fewer rushing yards, putting more pressure on quarterback Kurt Warner.

The Rams have scored just four touchdowns during their six-game losing streak, their longest since starting last season 0-8.

Arizona has won the last four games between the teams by a combined 150-83 score. Get all your NFL picks in the Bodog Sportsbook now.

Two weeks after Mike Singletary's postgame tirade following their 34-13 loss to Seattle, the 49ers once again had a frustrating loss on Monday night where a call did not go their way.

While Singletary is trying to dig his team out of the NFC West basement, so is Rams interim head coach Jim Haslett following Sunday's 47-3 loss to the New York Jets.

Frank Gore, who is the NFL's sixth-leading rusher with 728 yards, did not practice on Wednesday due to a neck injury but is expected to play against a Rams team that has the league's 30th-ranked rush defense. In four career starts against St. Louis, Gore has averaged 93.5 yards rushing.

St. Louis will likely be without Steven Jackson for the third time in four weeks. Get your NFL odds in the Bodog Sportsbook.

No one could have imagined the Rams bolting to a 21-7 first-quarter lead, then never letting up in a 20-point spanking where the margin of victory was more than the points the Rams had scored in any previous game this season.

On Sunday everyone will get to see if the Rams are for real as they take on the New England Patriots, a team that is also coming off a one-sided outcome. The Patriots played like the club that had a perfect regular-season record last year as Matt Cassel threw three touchdown passes as they routed the Broncos 41-7 Monday night.

Bettors now have to figure out which team displayed a more accurate representation of their true selves as Sunday approaches. If it helps, the underdog is 4-0 ATS in their last four head-to-head meetings. Bet on the NFL in the Bodog Sportsbook.
